What agonising news re your co-worker. We are so little aware of what goes on in other parts of the world and how it affects "real" people. From Europe "it's just another one of those things that keeps happening over there". How lucky they are to have you among them - I am sure you have contributed stability to your colleagues.
Have you checked your own roof, garden gates etc? Drain pipes?

Vim, thank you for your thoughts regarding the hurricane. It is/was, indeed, a tragic event. One of my co-workers died in it. Many people have lost their homes, jobs. It affected millions of people because it hit in a metropolitan area. We were spared, this time.
