    Hej Bob!
Are you back from Dillemans? In one piece or should I say your stomach in two pieces? I do hope all went well for you and that you are recovering slowly. I suppose you have only just returned home. Take it very slowly Bob and remember to sip, sip, sip and take gentle, frequent walks!
    Thinking of you!
    Cheers,
    Vim

    Hej Bob!
Thank you for your message. Personally I believe in the art of compromise: a little of what the doctor recommends and a little of what you feel comfortable with i.e. I would strike the balance between your 1000 calories and his recommended 1500 cals by taking say 1200. You may find that you all of a sudden reach an alarm position or reach a point too low for your good health and do more harm to yourself by being too low. Remember how drastic a change in diet it is for you as it is!
As to vitamins, I use BEROCCA's multivitamin, soluble in water which I tolerate very well. One a day. Haven't looked into anything else as I feel comfortable like this.
I'm hoping you'll continue a smooth ride and not reach a plateau before surgery!
    All the best for now!
    Cheers,
    Vim

    Hej Bob!
What brilliant news! How fantastic is that loss! And how manageable is the balance! Congratulations on your 13th March date! You'll see how fast it will come around! If you have managed this far, please keep it up - you are so strong and motivated and the middle bit is always the hardest. You are obviously doing it right, whatever it is!!!
Treat yourself when you reach little rewards, something nice each week such as a favourite newspaper, going to the cinema, a trip fishing, a sociable get together with your mates, a new book, CD...
    Thinking of you!
Will be seeing Gwen on Sunday - she and partner will be coming over to me for lunch! Haven't seen her since June!
    Keep well dear Friend!
    Cheers,
    Vim

    Hej Bob!
I do love your attitude! Great guns for you!
Perhaps my entry during my post-op surgery days, whilst in Bruges might be of help to you. Some things you will recognise I am sure from your own visit there.

    Bob!
Thank you for your kind words! And what wonderful news having date! You bet Friday 13th is a good one!!!
Where in Bruges will you be staying? I'm sorry that I can't be there in person, nor do I know of anybody who will be there at that time. You might ask Dr D.'s office if he could put you in touch with somebody who'll be having surgery coming from near you. You could also ask if any of his patients would be booked into your same hotel and start an email relationship if nothing else.
    Please keep us posted!
Happy New Year my friend and well done for your 1000 cals! You definitely have the right mindset! THAT is impressive!
    Hugs,
    Vim

Hi to all my friends at Brugge Babes. Kept to 1000 cal diet religiously over Xmas as well. Got my op date Friday 13th March, lucky for some.[B]

Flying from Bristol on 11th, taxi to hotel, Dr D next day at 12 and hopefully this time my op the following day. Will be on my own this time son can't get time off never mind its all going to be ok. A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO US ALL. Bob XXX

PS My biggest worry is if my backside will fit in the plane seat.

    Hej Bob!
I cannot believe it was one month ago that we communicated. How are you coping now? Are you still able to focus or are Christmas preparations making it intolerably hard? I am looking at your eyes - after surgery and already at 15 pounds down, they will emerge from a distant past. Your eyes will have more space in which to open eyelids and you'll be amazed at what you'll be able to see better again! And that alone will lift your spirits! Others will start to see you (eyes being the mirror of the soul?!) and will approach you differently again.
Good luck to you. Remember, you have a goal and in case you have been "off" until now, NOW is another chance to step forward. Keep it up Bob!
    Thinking of you!
    Cheers,
    Vim
