well I would say that in the begining I might would loose anywhere from 5-10lbs a month on average. As time went on and as I got closer to my goal weight it might be more like 2-5lbs a month. It just really varied. I would say at the begining when you are loosing around 2lbs a week a stall would be if you went 2-3 weeks w/out loosing anything. But that happens just don't let it get you down b/c it will start back up. When i got to around 145ish I though "okay i'm about where my Dr wanted me to be so I probably won't loose much more. Well I went for probably a month or more at that weight and then all of a sudden it started dropping off again. I got to about 140 and I thought, okay I'll start eating a little more to slow the weight loss some, well as I started eating more I begain loosing again. So now I'm at 132lbs. And I'm 5'5. I'm not sure how much more I will loose, but I'm just taking it one day at a time. Point is it doesnt' matter how quickly you loose it. I think not loosing so quick has far outweighed loosing quick and heres why.....1- you don't have to run out and buy new pants ever week. 2- people that see you everday see you slowly morph like you see yourself morph and it's not like "OMG what happened to you". You know keeps you from having to answer so many questions. 3- probably less loose skin 4- Less health risks w/ loosing slower. And 4- I personally think that a more slow but steady weight loss helps build up your metabolism over the long haul to help you keep weight off in the end. I mean someone who drops weight then stalls for weeks then drops again can't be doing much for their metabolism. This is my advise, Eat several small meals a day. Never a large meal (this builds metabolism). I eat 3, what I consider a meal, a day and then 2 snacks. (small snacks) And I eat about ever 3 hrs. When you have what you would consider a meal eat on a saucer. Keeps you from over eating and makes you think your eating more. One rule I NEVER followed is the drinking and eating thing. I drank w/ my food. Maybe not a lot, but I did. It actually helped fill me up sooner. However it might flush out the food and cause you to be hungry again sooner than if you hadn't. But I did it. Good luck. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask
Yeah everything is going GREAT! I just went back home for a week and had a two day drive. On top of that just been trying to catch up on things this last week. ugh! lol
How are you doing?
Well i hope work is going well. I have started on my 3rd stage. i think i am doing better. had some chest pains from trying new things and eating too fast. I need to do better on my protein though. tomorrow is a new day and i will try to do better. be good and keep up the good work
Hi. I just saw the comments you left me, sorry i'm just now replying. WORDS OF ADVISE...hummm...well #1 don't get discouraged when you think your not loosing what you should. Or as fast as you should. I lost weight relatively slow compared to most, however I have lost everything I wanted to and then some. Slow and steady wins the race, right? That has also helped me not have as much loose skin (or so thats my opinion) I mean there are other factors behind it too. I commented on my post to answer question people had about how I think I've been able to avoid loose skin. you can read it if you like. When your able to eat more food think SAUCER SIZE. I never eat on a big plate. EVER. Now you might not even be able to eat that much at first, but eventually you will. I eat lot of lean cuisines, good size, low in calories. And I try to eat 2-3 meals (saucer size) and 2-3 snacks per day. Basically try to eat little bit ever 3 hrs. Keeps your metabolism going and keeps you from wanting ot overeat during other times. I eat a good bit of those lowfat Mozzerella sticks. That is 1 snack. anyways, good luck. Any questions you have, im here to answer.
Danni,
I'm sorry lovey! I've been keeping busy so I don't claw my eyeballs out out of boredom...lol
Plus this week I'm staying at one of my husband's captains houses to watch their 2 children while they go on leave for a couple of days....they left Sunday and came back last night and then they leave again tomorrow and come back Saturday...I'm at home today...thank God...it was tougher than I thought...it's a 3 year old and a 3 month old...they're both getting a cold so that was quit pleasant let me tell ya...lol
How do you like your magic bullet? Last Saturday my husband and I went to the German mall and walked around...in one of the stores we found one very similar to the American version but it was cheaper, and had a blender top...to make like 4 servings of something....we still might go and get it shoot...hubby was talking about getting a blender and I'm like...pppsshhtt...no way man..they take up to much room and the magic bullets don't need a lot of liquid to do the job you want AND they make the PERFECT portion sized smoothies and what not....sigh...I'm in love...lol....
I'm getting sick of the same food over and over...getting bored of refried beans, eggs, and tuna...I've been eating rot. chicken, turkey anc cheese roll ups that I nuke for a few secs to make the cheese a little softer..yum...haven't been home to get too creative but next week...
I'm still having pain from the huge air bubble in my side...still taking pain meds every once in a while..I try to deal with it but every once in a while I suck it up and take one to cut the edge... I'm in the process of applying for grants and stuff to start college...wanting to become a teacher..little kids...after I get my associates the military will pay for me to go to college to become a teacher...spouses to teachers program...plus the Army pays for half my tuition at this certain college (Univ. of Maryland) over here...woot!
If you like Reese's Peanut Butter (if you're a fat girl like me you do...lol...when I say fat girl I mean the mind-set of habits..my cousin and I have a fat girl club...in order to join you have to be able to eat a tub of frosting apart from the cake and still want more when you're done...lmao! j/k)
Anyhoo...about the PB Cups....ice, half water, half slimfast choc royale shake (or any other choc flavor-about an ounce or two....add your choc protein powder and a tsp of red fat PB...whiz it up in the bullet...VOILA! tastes like a PB cup shake...YUM!
for my hubby I put ice, a little water, little vanilla or strawberry slimfast, vanilla protein powder and some sugar free strawberry preserves and/or some fresh strawberries, a little splenda...protein smoothie that keeps him full till lunch time...I'm making him drink one or two a day for a meal replacement..he needs to eat better and lose a little bit of weight according to Army standards...plus, he's got a groin muscle pull right now and can't work out at all so he's at a higher risk of gaining weight right now...if he doesn't pass his weight and/or PT test he can be flagged and not be promoted till he gets the weight off and he's been working too hard on getting promotion points....sigh...gotta love the Army...can't says that I blame them though.......lol no one likes a fat soldier...lmao...
anyhoo...sorry I haven't been around lovey...SMOOCH! How are thangs on your end? What have you been eating? Tolerating things ok? maybe your're eating something I haven't thought of...lol
talk to you later...SMOOCH
hi. i just wanted to see how you were doing. How do you like being back to work. Is that hard for you. DO you get tired. so how are you doing on your food.
Hey, I totally understand. I remember what it was like early out when I wanted to eat everything, but every food I tried seemed to make me sick. But after two months, that stopped happening so much. In fact, sometimes things feel too easy and I forget I'm not "normal" so then forget to be careful and eat too fast and then feel sick. Arg! It is a constant process. In two days, I will be one year out and am still losing slowly (one pound in the last few weeks). I lost 35 pounds pre-op, and 141 since surgery. I'm still waiting to see where this all takes me. I have people telling me to stop losing now, but hey, I still weigh 161 -- even at 5'8" that is not light, LOL!
18 lbs!!! Great job!!! That's great! I am so glad you wrote back. I had my Psych Eval, Labs and Nutritionist appt today. I have to do a pulmanary test on Wed. The last thing I have to do before submitting to insurance is do a Cardiac Fit test. I believe that is what it called. I'm not sure how long that will take "cause I have to weight on the refferal to make an appointment. I thought today would be it so I'm kind of bummed. I really hope to have the surgery in Oct. Are you still on Liquid? Do you constantly feel full now? How is the scarring? I heard black women are more likely to get keloids. I am nervous about that. How are you healing?
How was going back to work after 2 weeks? I am only planning 2 weeks myself and keep thinking that might be to soon. I went and bought a small jug that holds 32 oz. I am trying now to drink one jug by lunch and the other by bedtime using my sipping technique. I am used to regular drinking so i really have to put thought in this. Congrats on the weight loss!!
