Aviator - I've worked my way through my insurance approval for the past 5 months and am currently scheduled for the RNY. I never gave much attention to the sleeve because I knew my insurance would not cover it. Now that I'm scheduled and its more real I started looking harder at the long term complications and now the sleeve. I am really considering have the sleeve done as a self-pay rather than RNY paid for by insurance. I have an appointment with 2 surgeons plus my current doc to talk about the sleeve. I am seeing Dr. Jason Balette this Friday. It sounds like you have been happy with him correct? Any information or feedback would be great. Any idea what he charges for the sleeve? What hospital did you choose? Memorial Herman or St. Luke's. thanks.
