Wow!
I decided to initially not tell anybody about my surgery considerations until I had made up my mind about going through with it. I was concerned about the stigma attached to it - especially here in South Africa where their is pathetically little info about it! After I had made my decision and went to the info session I decided it was time to share with a select few. So, my best friend was the first to know - and she was amazing. She has committed to supporting me -emotionally, as a shopper...

I thought having to wait an entire week waiting for the doctors rooms to schedule my appointments was torture... until I received it and saw I have to wait another 4 months to actually see the surgeon! I have been driving myself nuts and can see myself getting a brand spanking new ulcer waiting this long... did I mention I am very impatient on a good day???!!!
(Psychologist evaluations still need to be scheduled)
So I see the nutritionist first - 12 Feb 2008

In these very very early days of my decision to at least investigate GBS, I am shocked to be in such emotional turmoil... and I haven't even been to the info session yet!! I have read blogs and books, the wonderful successes, the complications and hardships.
I've decided to put aside my worries about the risks and complications, for now, and focus on why I want to go ahead with this. So this is a list of my dreams (some are very superficial I know but at least they're honest and real!!)...
