Hi Ann, sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I was off on a little camping trip. I was actually ok'd to swallow my vitamins at 4 weeks post-op. I did fine but the calcium citrates are often HUGE. So a lot of people seem to have trouble swallowing those. Personally I've opted to stick with the chewables. I think you probably will get better absorption plus no risk of getting those pills stuck in your pouch. From what I have recently read on the site where I buy my vitamins, they recommend taking chewables for the first 6 months.

Hi Beth - I went to a support group meeting last night. The nurse teaching it said we could take vitamins that we can swallow, i.e., calcium citrate and multi-vits. That doesn't sound right to me. I am 4 weeks out (can you believe it???). I thought we had to take vits that we have to chew. Let me know what you think. Thanks!!

Dear Beth - I have been on liquids all day today. I feel awful. I am diabetic and am feeling that my blood sugar is way too low. Will it be this way after I have the surgery? I am afraid that I will have low blood sugar and not be able to eat something with sugar to fix it. I know I am nervous about MOnday's surgery but this is my biggest worry right now.

Hi Ann! People keep sneaking into my group of groupies without me noticing. So sorry I didn't notice earlier. I would like to welcome you to my crazy group of groupies. I really don't feel deserving to have such a following *L* but I am honored. Please know that I don't ever mind questions. I really don't. Everyone's questions just motivate me more to learn. I see it is only a few more days before your surgery. How are you holding up? Are you getting nervous? Know that I will be thinking about you on your surgery day and looking forward to seeing you on the forum joining the loser's bench!
