    Hi Amber,
Havent been on this site for ages, so thought I would just catch up with you.

Did you end up having your surgery? If so, how did it all go? If not....when?

I have tried to be ultra patient with jumping through the hoops the surgeons set, and so far I have seen the dietician and had the doppler scan, the next appt. is to see the pyschiatric profiler (shrink) which is booked for 21st May, then a follow up appt on 2nd June to see my surgeon....I hope at that point I will be put on the pre op diet.

Look forward to hearing from you soon

    Hi Cheryl.
Great to hear from you. I havent been given a preop diet yet. I have recently moved and I think they may have sent my confirmation to my old address so I will have to chase it tomorrow. I think my pre assessment will just involve having routine blood tests but I will keep you updated. I have has some really nice replies from people which has gone a long way to reassure me about my decision. Its a great forum. Hope your tests go well. speak to you soon

    Hi Amber,
This is the 4th message I have attempted to send to you today....so getting bored now.
I live in the Romford area of Essex.
The tests the surgeon wants me to have are a doppler scan, a psychiatric profile and to see a dietician.
I have the dietician appt for next Monday 25th Feb as well as seeing Mr Hashemi again..not sure why, but will have more info next week I guess.
Have you been given a pre op diet? If so, what is it? Clear soup? YUK
Fingers crossed you get this mail

Hi Cheryl. Great to hear from you. I am so glad to know that I am not being obsessive about the op and that you feel the same way. Where abouts in England are you? And what tests are you having done? I havent had any tests done yet. My surgeon just said yes, but I am having to fund the op on my own as I am not heavy enough to warrant having it done on the NHS. IT would be really nice to keep in touch and help each other along with our anxieties while waitng for the op. Hope to hear from you soon. Regards Amber

    Hi Amber,

I am a newcomer from the UK, but felt I had to send you a brief message as I could relate to your feelings 100%.

I am awaiting various tests my surgeon wants to carry out first, and if they come back ok, he has agreed to do a gastric bypass. When is your surgery? April or June?

Anyway, let me tell you..all I can talk about is bypass, I am eating, sleeping, dreaming bypass. I am completely obsessed with going on and on about it. I am pretty much an obsessed sort, every thing I do is extreme. So I have done the research and read up so much now, I just dont know what I will do if the tests are done and the surgeon decides against it...I will be distraught I know it.

Anyway, I dont think you are abnormal worrying, unless I too am round the bend, which could be the case. who knows? My health is suffering, my knees are shot to pieces with arthritus as well as my spine.

Keep us posted and good luck

    Cheryl xx
