hey. Congrats on the upcoming surgery.

I really didn't have any issues with St Alexis. The Bariatric floor attendants were fabulous. I did have to ask for a fan which took a while to get but other than that it was great as far as a hospital stay goes.

Only word of warning.. if you have EVER had a problem with them starting an IV line in you before, automatically request the anesthesiologist to do yours. They tried 9 times in my arm before calling him over. it was HORRIBLE

I had VSG surgery on Thurday and did well enough that I got to come home yesterday afternoon. I have no complaints about the surgical area. My main issue is exterme soreness in my back and arm from the hospital bed. My doctor did my procedure a bit differently electing to go through the belly button as opposed to several incisions. So I have only one incision.

I still have my On Q bag and the area under all of its tubes is very itchy but it should be coming off tomorrow or Monday....

My surgery (VSG) is scheduled a month from today (June 4). I'm thrilled and terrified. I have had all of my pre-op testing - getting results on Thursday. Hopefully the 2 ulcers will not cause delay in procedure. I will officially start a 10 day pre-op clear liquid diet on Memorial Day. I think this is the scariest part for me b/c it will be such a challenge. I'm always working with how to explain things to my soon-to-be 4 year old son. Make him understand that mommy can't wrestle with him...
