When I first joined this site you were a voice on inspiration and information for me. I have missed seeing your posts and I hope that your recovery is on the upside. I know you have some unexpected challenges and I hope they are better now. Hope to hear from you soon.

it was nice to hear from you. Unfortunatly with open wound care it takes time. It sounds like you are doing all the right stuff and listening to your doctor. Before you know it, all this will be behind you and you will be living the happy healthy life you have worked so hard for. please take care of your self.

I am hanging in there. The infection in my incision is still there and the site is still open (4 inche long and 2 inches deep). I have to have the dressing changed twice a day, and I have to see the doctor at least two times a week. Otherwise my health seems o.k.. It is just hard to walk or stand for long periods of time since the open site really starts to hurt. The surgeon's office tells me that I am well on my way to recovery, but to be on the safe side I still have to go to the wound care clinic on Monday. I am glad to hear you are doing so well. It makes me fel better to know that at least one other person didi not have to go through what I went through.

    Take care!

    Jon

    Hi Jon,

I to have found myself rushing around and grabbing whatever food is nearby, usually nothing healthy. One of the first steps i did was to get organized about my food and have a plan in motion. I pack my food for the day in an igloo mini cooler so i have no exuse. This has been an adjustment, but it has paid off. I am down 18 pounds in 8 weeks and not hungry because i am focusing on the protein. I have read where post surgery patients can lose their hair after surgery from the lack of protein, this will not work for me!!! I have spent too much time on money on my goldilocks to have them fall out because I was not eating properly. Anyway, Good luck, your date is right around the corner.
