I am making some chicken soup right now. I chopped up all the veggies and chicken. Next I'll smash it when it softens up. A friend of mine that had this surgery said she would freeze food in ice cube trays - that way she knew how much she was having. I think I'll do that. It will be really convenient when I go back to work. I have really enjoyed the break staying home. That alone was worth the break. Talk to you soon. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Yeah I knew all about the bad Heparin and posted a thread all about it. Yes, I am so glad we didn't need it. I wrote you a long response about how I am doing but somehow I got booted off the TT site and it all went for naught, so now I am running a bit late and I want to check some other stuff, but basically, we sound pretty similar. I have lost over twenty since surgery. I don[t have any diarrhea, but maybe that's because I am taking some iron supplement, called Ferretts liquid...supposedly flavored, it still tastes nasty to me. Yeah, I've seen some pizzahut commercials and I just imagine a piece of pizza ripping up my stomach and all sorts of bad things happening...but usually I just change the channel. I guess I am glad I have a vivid imagination. I ate some baked potato and chicken that wasn['t pureed, but I chewed the heck out of it and had no problems. I have little pain, most is in my hip that needs replacing, but with the wt loss so far, it doesn't seem to hurt that much, although I haven'[t really tested it much....Sorry bout all the ]'s that keep sneaking into my ty[ping! I am still recuperating at home, but I have had to go into my church on the sly and do some stuff. And yesterday I was up all night with a Dad whose son died of a heart attack in NYC while he was here in Chcago...But I wish my energy level was a bit better. I get tuckered out pretty easy. I haven[t kept really close track but I think I am about 500cals. per day. Anyway, congrats on doing so well post-surgically!!!! You go Girl!!!!
Hi Bill, sorry I haven't gotten back to you but I haven't been on the site since prior to my surgery. I am doing great!!! My surgery was awesome. My surgeon said from the first incision to the end it only took 1 hour and 48 minutes. Praise God!!! I am healing so fast!!!
I feel like such a selfish jerk. Here I am asking you to keep me informed and then I totally forget to let you know that I too was approved for April 16th...I got word last Thursday. I ran a thread "Got my date" but shame on me for not getting back to you. I am so sorry and embarassed too!
Congrats on the good news! Lots of changes we're facing, eh??? I am excited and freaked out by it all..especially since this is my busiest week of the year, prepping for Holy Week stuff and Easter. Well, gotta run. Best to you and again, please accept my apologies for falling down on my responsibility to contact you. I am going to try and push the buttons so we can be "friends" on this TT site (if that's okay with you?) so we can more easily contact each other, ok?
