I have another old "before" photo that my hubby hid from me for quite a while. After I saw the photo, I knew why he hid it. I shared this photo with the East County support group a few months ago. I thought I'd post it along with my most recent photo for a 19-month comparison.

The "before" photo is from March 2004. The "after" photo is from October 2005.

Ladies:

You're much too kind...I think I look pretty gross in the "before" photo. I carried a lot of weight in my face and neck--not an attractive feature. It's weird because I didn't think I had that much fat in my face and neck. It's funny how, with the body dysmorphic disorder, you don't see how you really look--heavy or normal. That's why I take a lot of pictures now...to try to ingrain in my brain how I really look.

I encourage post-ops to do the same. When you're depressed about not losing for a period of time, take a picture of yourself. I bet you'll see a difference.
