Thanks everyone.
It looks like things are kind of leveling out in my division at work, but my dad, who also works at the police department, announced his retirement earlier this week. I knew about it in advance, but it's bringing about some possible issues.
He works in another department (in what they call support), and has become a very essential part of day to day things at the station. I've heard rumor that I maybe asked to take his spot. They are very big shoes to fill, and it pays the same money for probably atleast double responsibility.
So, I maybe on the rollercoaster a bit longer, but hopefully not. I'm happy where I'm at right now. I've been in investigations about a year, and have gotten accustomed to the work there. I don't know if I'm ready to change again yet.
On another note, as I type this, my road is flooded more than anyone down here has seen it in like 20 years. I live right on a river, so flooding to a degree is a way of life. I'm attaching a photo so you can see. The house is not ours, but just a way down from us. We are fortunate that our home is one of the highest plots on the road.
The house is off the ground several feet. It was a little over waist deep this morning. It is supposed to crest and start receeding tonight sometime.

First of all, That photo speaks a 1,000 words! Floods are just so devastating - I hope your home doesn't get wet!
I bet your dad would love to see you step into his shoes in the support capacity, but do follow your own heart. Investigations would be very interesting I bet. My brother was a Metro Toronto police officer for 30 years and retired at 48. He loved the job but really doesn't miss it - he now does security in a high school near his home and helps out with the football team. He doesn't make a lot of money but the stress level is 1/4 of what it was and he finds great enjoyment in working closely with the boys on the team. His son (my nephew) is now on the Peel Regional Police Department (just 2 yrs) and is really enjoying following in his dad's footsteps. Its scary stressful work, but someone has to do it - right? Anyways, make your decision on how you feel not by being influenced by outside opinions. Good luck and WOW again on your great work with the weight loss. You are doing so well.

Doesn't matter what department your working in the WLS is going to work its magic if you stick to the discipline out it as laid out by the doctor. Congrats on your father's retirement mine comes up real soon as well and I can't wait. Will miss most the people I work with day in day out. They can keep dropping in and visiting me though. Most of us are in the same position.
Keep up the good work on the WLS, your going to really appreciate the end product.

Gosh Paul. That picture is so horrifying! And I love all animals but all I can think of is all the snakes and snappers swimming around that muddy water, LOL! Gators, too?

How come the guys weight loss always seems more noticeable than the ladies (or is that just me who thinks that way?).
Paul - that is a superb start - you are looking good.
But I'm sorry to see you're having to deal with flooding. The area in WA where I live has had some serious floods this past couple of years - it's devasting for those involved - my heart goes out to everyone dealing with stuff like that.

Yes, I would.
As far as the flooding here, I haven't received any reports of water in peoples' homes. Most people that live in the area I am in are used to flooding that is occasionally caused by a release from a dam about an hour's drive from us. Needless to say, most of the houses are built to accommodate that issue (think beach cabins but not as high up).
I think the worst part for me is that it got high enough that I can't drive my truck in and out, and I have to depend on someone else to boat me in and out. I sold my boat about 6 months ago, lol. I never used it, but would this time around . I'm staying at my dad's right now because I have some late hour security jobs this weekend. I'm away from my family and it sucks a little bit, but the water is supposed to start going down today sometime.
Thanks again all for the compliments. I've been having my struggles lately, but it's nice that this tool is still helping me out. I think I have been getting to some of the more emotional parts of eating lately. Like why do I want to grab something to snack or munch on, etc. It's weird because now I KNOW that I'm not hungry for anything, but can find myself thinking about eating something small and snacky. It's just different for me to go through that. I really always felt hungry before.
