Smile Thank you all for your kind comments.

These past 8 months have been the most exciting 8 months of my life. Everyday is a different day and no one but us GB patients will understand. Waking up every morning wondering how our stomach is going to react is exciting!

I wake up some mornings with the urge to eat wierd foods like tomatoes and cottage cheese! Two things I absolutely hated!
Or putting something into your mouth and wondering if your stomach is going to tell you....."Dont shove that thing in there". So its been an adventure.

Some of you ask what I been eating. Now that im able to eat whatever I really focus on getting in tons of protein and not worry so much about calories.

I found out the best way to get in my protein is by making a morning protein shake. The only problem was i hated taking out the stupid blender each morning and making a fruit smoothie. So i did some research and one night i saw an informercial for THE MAGIC BULLET! Its that little personal blender.
I can honestly say it changed everything! I bought it in late Nov and I think I use it every morning.

So what I do every Sunday I go to my local Farmers market or grocery store and stock up on fresh fruit. I then go home and cut up all the fruit for the week. I mostly buy berries (straw, black, rass & blue) i also buy a papaya and some oranges. Anywho, I cut it all up and put them in containers. Every morning i wake up get my little magic bullet cup and fill it with different combos of fruit 1-2 scoops of protein, flax seed powder (its tasteless so you cant complain) some milk or fruit juice, one tsp of plain yogurt and ice and blend away. That alone is close to 50 grams of protein! Ill be honest if you put milk and yogurt together its way more creamy and i dont like it as much. So i prefer to use the fruit juice. I know its not the healthiest but taste so much better. I then take it on my drive to work. That keeps me full for 2-3 hrs.

I also buy a container of cottage cheese and like to mix it with fresh fruit. I take it to work and eat when i want my first snack. other snacks i eat are string cheese and almonds. Im not going to lie i do eat some unhealthy snacks like beef jerkey, and trail mix and a cookie or other sweets once in a while. Im a firm believer tha if you try to change your lifestyle so drasticly that you will end up quiting. So i say have a cheat day once in a while. No matter how you look at it. It might be bad food but its never going to be as much as you ate before. We went out to dinner a few nights ago and there was a big a$$ pizza on our table and i ate half a slice and was completely satisfied and got that craving out of the way.

Other things i like to eat are any green vegis and chicken even ground turkey isnt bad.

Sometimes I feel like "am i eating to much" but your stomach will tell you when you ate to much. Instead of waiting for me to be really hungry i have spread out my eating to 6-8x a day. There all small little meals but it keeps me full of energy all day.

You should really try and test your body to see how it works. One test i did on my self is eat whatever but not eat protein. You will see that you really have no energy by the end of the day and all you want to do is crawl into bed. Also when you get that feeling that your eating to much try and starving your self the next day. You will end up stuffing your face after and feeling like crap!

I remember asking my self "can I really only fit 4-6 ounces of food in there". Ohh did I learn that YUP only 4-6 ounces fit. I overate and spent the next hour in the bathroom yacking it all up!

I also joined a gym in Nov. (5 months after my surgery). That has also helped out so much. In the beg. it was just straight cardio and light weights. Now i take a cardio kick boxing and a reg boxing class. I also once in a while do Spinning class. I absolutely luv doing those classes at the gym. Im also one of the only people in the class that can hang the whole hour!

This comming from a guy that 8 months ago can barely walk up a flight of stairs with out being winded and sweating up a pool.

I have to say this surgery was the best thing I have ever done. You will def hear negative comments from other people. But honestly I can give a Rats A$$ what other people have to say about me. They dont pay my bills and they dont make decisions for me. I used this surgery to better my health and hopefully live a longer life. Like my doctor said this is just a tool to help you lose weight. But i hear more positive comments now than negative.

Enough of me rambling,
Once again thank you everyone for those kind comments. If you have any other questions feel free to ask away.

Greg
