Thanks for all the compliments and well wishes. It has been a long journey for sure, not without a few bumps in the road. Early last year I had to go in to have my gall bladder removed and they found a herniated intestine. That explained why I was having some stomach pains, I had just attributed it to being post op and normal stomach pains that we occasionally get after eating. Since that surgery, I have been feeling awesome.
As for my exercise plan, I did alot of hiking and during the first year, probably logged around 10-15 miles per week hiking in the local santa barbara mountains. Went to the gym 3-4 days per week after the initial weight loss for weight training and cardio (although I hate cardio at the gym, too boring). The weight came of pretty gradually, hitting a few plateaus along the way. I just busted through them by changing my diet around and varying my exercise program. I have been stable at around 175-180 for the past 6 months or so and feel great. I still have a bunch of extra skin around my stomach, but it isn't noticeable with a shirt on and my wife says she doen'tmind it at all. Would still like to have a tummy tuck, or belt lipectomy, but have to save the 10 grand for the procedure, so I'm not in too big of a hurry. Just being happy being myself and finally enjoy going out shopping for clothes.
Just a note for all of the pre and early post ops, have patience and faith in yourself, stick to the plan and the weight will come off and you will be healthier and happier for it. Thanks again for all of the support, like I said, I'm not much of a poster but I do read your post all of the time for inspiration and information.
