What's in your backyard????
Hey guys....I have seen your Elk,Deer and Moose pics from your backyards...well My DH took this pic today of our "Little" guy who visits the canal in my back yard.He was only about 7ft...good for him...once they hit 8ft...trappers come and remove them to the Everglades...suuuurrreee they do.
Even at the airport,I saw an alligator in a 12X12 rain pond while the plane taxied to the gate.
Welcome to South Florida!

COOL!! I've been down in the 'glades a couple of times in the last two years and I love it there, and I still, without thinking about it, look at every little pond I drive by here to see if I can see any gators--then I remember where I am LOL...
Here, it's bunnies, the occasional garter snake, all kinds of birds including a hawk once in awhile, frogs, and my son saw a fox out there once a few months ago. That's about as exciting as it gets around here.

I love it....
Thanks for sharing that picture....When I lived in South Carolina we saw gators all the time, they would lounge in the Target parking lots...I tried one time to catch a baby one but then chickened out...I loved watching them in action, they are such exciting creatures...Now that I live in Illinois we don't see much. The occasional Racoon at night but that is about it....Sure miss the wildlife!

I have ducklings in my garden at the moment. We dont get anything scary in the UK (thank the lord), I visited a friend in Dothan a few years gone by, she lived out in the sticks and had all manner of nasty things that wanted to bite or eat you in her neighbourhood. I slept with one eye open

Oh my goodness!!!!!!! Is that something that you just get used to Van?
We have lots of wildlife in our backyard living right along the river. The one thing that took a little getting used to was the bullsnakes. They are not poisonous but will bite. The kids just treat them like a giant garter snakes now and carry them out of the yard by the tail. The largest ones they have caught are about 5 and 1/2 feet.
My sons teacher wants him to bring one into school. Not sure about that.

Yikes! I panic when I see a little lizard in my yard...If I saw one of those, I'd probably pass out! We also see opposums every summer trailing accross our back fence. Those are weird looking animals!

What's a backyard?
Seriously though I think I would freak if I looked out my window and saw something like that.
