Welcome aboard papacool!
You've found a great place to find info and friends to help you in your journey!

There's an awesome center of excellence in Lake Charles, you'll be in good hands!
It's natural to get nervous, especially with just 1 week to go! Just remember, the surgery will be done soon and the weight will be falling off!
I'm 1 1/2 weeks post-op right now and I have lost 17lbs so far since surgery. (and I have not found time to walk as much as I should.) I promised myself that I would do better this week though!

-We're here if you ever have questions!

Bucky!
That's gonna be hard!!! Shrimp stew is my favorite!

Just remember... if you show yourself that you can turn it down now, it will make it much more easy to continue to do it later!!!
Now that I have had the surgery and can eat soft and smushy stuff, I could easily grab a bowl, puree it, and drink up! But I won't, because I have trained myself to make healthier choices and to get in as much protein as possible when I do put stuff in my mouth.
Later on down the line, when I want shrimp stew or crawfish ettoufee, or gumbo- I will cook it and invite friends and family over.
Rest assured my version of it will no longer be as fattening and/or greasy as these dishes usually are, but they will still have that great cajun flavor we love so much down here!!!
Good luck with it! Protein shakes, jello, and sugar free pops are no so bad!
