Did you call Dr. Callery's office? Isn't he in California?
I'm sure others who have been to him can give you some contact info. I think it's also listed on the web site here.
You are so young to feel so defeated, my heart breaks for you. I'm so sorry that you have not gotten any answers as of yet.
Mind you this is not an easy process. It takes time to go through all the hoops before approval and eventual date of surgery. Just hang in there and keep plugging away.

Yes - at the top of the screen in the blue band - if you click on the green colored figure between Thinner Times it takes you to the page that has contact info. GOOD LUCK with this. Keep us posted on your progress.

you and i are very much alike.
i'm 30 (just turned in may) and am 6'1 and my starting weight was at 445 lbs.
I really just did some online research for bariatric surgeons in my st louis area and did some calling around and checking to see if they've ever worked with obese people my size, what their success rate for those large patients was, and the largest patient that they were successfully able to perform the lap RNY.
I know you're probably considering the lap band because it's less invasive. Honey.. do yourself a favor and do the RNY. There are so many ways to cheat the lap band, and with the slower weight loss it can cause emotional stress beyond even what we are used to. With the RNY, it more MAKES you have to follow its plan. I have my 3 month follow up next week, and right now am around 90lbs down in that short amount of time.
It's so worth it. Keep truckin and you will find someone and be successful. PM or respond with any questions. I'd be glad to talk with you

Ask the asshole doctor for his attorneys name, since they operated under a code of ethics, they cannot tell you to go away because of your size, you can make some money off of this guy, then you can pay for the surgery!!!

You took the words right out of my mouth-----any credible physician would be treating patients with any issue and working with collegues to find ways to help any patient who needs it irregardless of the diagnosis.

thank you everyone for youre help
@nittinnana & Baja Big Dog no I wont sue (although I should thats probably why I am poor) but finding out his true colors up front is far more valuable
@Crie I actually was considering lapband but not so much for the ease of surgery but the fear rapid weight loss will make me look sickly but I am still debating I mean this is noty about looks for me being this big is uhhealthy so what ever will get me healthy and keep me healthy is the best im not sure
@SDeRossett Dr Callery you say I will look her up thanks

Determination is Key
Hi MRX,
I was surfing and saw your post. I had to join so I could respond.
I noticed that you have Atena. Call the number on your card and ask to speak to a consumer advocate. Tell them you have a grievance and let them know you want help with your medical situation. With your weight you must have medical issues, I know I do.
Here is a little background...
I have Kaiser Permanente and they are providing me with GBS I am not paying any money for the surgery. I had to meet certain criteria to qualify. Ex: Tried diets such as Weight Watcher, Overeaters Anonymous, etc., I have medical issues such as high blood pressure and depression, I have gone to therapy and I have not lost any weight. Kaiser has you go through a
6-month program and you are required to lose 10% of your weight. The reason for this is the surgeons want access to your innards to be as easy as possible and the risk of dying during and after surgery is reduced. The other reason we have to go through the program is that they want us to start changing our eating habits and they give us a lot of information about nutrition, exercise, positive affirmations, dealing with stress, emotional eating, and more. We meet every week and we weigh in. We have to log our food and and turn it in. Each week we go over a different topic. My group is great and very supportive; that is another reason Kaiser wants us to be in the program. Having a support group is very important before and after surgery. I do not get to choose which surgery I want, that is up to the surgeon. With as much weight as you want to lose I think RNY is what you would need.
This Tuesday is my final group meeting and then I will be scheduled to meet with the surgeon; after that surgery.
I hope this has been helpful. If you believe in a higher power be sure to pray and meditate each day. Faith in my opinion is TRANSFORMATIONAL. And that's what we want right?! To be transformed.
All the best!
BBBig Sister
