Red face i want boobs!

Okay, here I am 15 months out from surgery and contemplating breast augmentation. I didn't have a lot to begin with, probably a mid-size B that grew into a full C when I was MO. Anyway, with weight fluctuations and child bearing, I am now totally deflated with nothing but saggy baby booties (not even tube socks!). I can't even fill up a little bathing suit top... it rides up over them!

Anyway, my issue is the guilt I'm feeling. I know no one knows my exact situation, but did any of you that either had a boob job or contemplated it deal with feeling terribly guilty? Or perhaps you felt great about it and the guilt didn't even phase you? I have money in savings, but as expected, there are always other things I could spend it on... or just keep saving. I just can't imagine actually spending this kind of money on something that seems to be so extravagant! Plus, I don't want to tell my parents because they had a tough enough time dealing with the fact I had GBS. I do have close friends that support me though.

Does anyone out there have feelings to share about this??

Default Hi Traci

I'm curious as to what exactly you're feeling guilty about? Is it the cost of surgery or maybe feelings of vanity?

Do your parents really need to know if you decide to have this done? Or are you concerned it will get back to them from someone else?

I think you should go for it if it's something you desire. You have the money in savings so it sounds like it won't cause any financial hardships for you and your boys. I say go for it!

You do know you'll have to provide pictures of the 'results' if you decide to have the surgery, don't you? Feel free to email them to me if you don't want to post them here!

I didn't have a breast augmentation but I did have a lot of plastic surgery (over $20,000 worth) that we paid for - insurance didn't cover it. I felt guilty about spending the money that way until I realized this was something that I was going to use every single second of the rest of my life. We had spent approx $15,000 on snowmobiles which we only used about 4-5 times a year and I never felt guilty about that. Why should I feel guilty about spending for something that would reconstruct my body and I would have the benefit of for every breathing moment for the rest of my life? Once I looked at it that way I was able to let go of the guilt.

Good questions (as always) Jim!

Guilty feelings over both the cost and feeling vain! Spending the money on only myself is hard (without it being medically necessary), but I suppose I might eventually justify that in my mind. I'm good enough... I'm smart enough... well, you know what I mean. The vanity... well, it is what it is, although that's going to be a bit tougher to work through.

I suppose I should not necessarily feel bad about keeping it from my parents. I really believe it would save them a lot of worry and concern. And I wouldn't get them so big that they could tell. Just enough to fill a bra without feeling like I'm cheating!

I'm not really concerned about them finding out from someone else. If for whatever reason they do, I can ask for forgiveness after the fact and explain that I didn't want to cause them worry.

You've made me feel a bit better about using the money on myself. Thanks for the support!

And about the pics... I hear women that get implants love to show them off afterwards, so you never know! Don't hold your breath though!

Great points, Veronica! I don't have a partner that I share funds with, but I do have two boys that I am raising. I keep thinking about what else that money could go towards for them. If I decide to go through with this, I'll have to find a way to let go of the guilt, so thanks for the words of advice!

Traci: I haven't had surgery yet, but ya know what...I nursed 3 kids...I can tell ya, these babies aren't going to get BETTER after...oh no.

I wanted new Ta-Ta's long before WLS, and I will get them...guilt FREE. Simply because I nursed my three kids. They sucked the boobs right out of me!!! LOL!! Sure it's expensive, and I guess some would agree vain...I however see it as a justified reimbursement for the children that I have born, nursed, raised and toiled over. (Ok...so that was a bit dramatic... ) The expense is something that should be figured into your WLS, your continued well being. Our breasts are a definition of who we are...an extension of our womanhood...if your not happy with them....by all means...get them fixed!!! Look at it as returning to that which GOD gave you...and a pinch or two more??!! LOL!!

I absolutely love mine and I have absolutely no guilt over them! I feel so much more like a women, they're fun to play with, I can wear wonderfully cute clothes, no more sagging skin to get in the way, bras fit, no rubbing or chaffing, I can go braless and not be mistaken for a boy...endless good for me.

The cost was average range....besides, I'm making up fo it in free drinks and some guy even bought me lingerie!
