The pain for my TT / hernia repair was nothing compared to GBS. You will do just fine. I had another TT with the last repair and did just fine with the pain. Don't worry. I will be thinking of you on Friday.

I am still not able to eat, after nearly 3 years. It really bums me out at times. I am still unable to eat fresh veggies the way I should be (like salads and such). Some of you may remember ( long time ago on these boards) I had an ulcer form right on the duodenum of my pouch (which may have already been made Extra small) I am thinking that the scar tissue from the ulcer after it ruptured and was coterized (sp?) made the exit EVEN SMALLER. This is why I am having another endoscopy done and having the balloon thing done they were talking about. I would really like to be able to eat and feel healthy again. I swear if it wasnt for the Jerky I wouldnt be able to eat a thing. I know it is terrible but the only thing I am able to keep down is a Taco from Jack in the Box. Then I eat Jerky, and apx 4 protein bars a day.

Meg,
I hope you plan to keep us posted about your TT. I will need to get one soon here too. If it werent for the fact that I would probably weight about 120 after a TT I probably would have already had one. I NEED TO GAIN SOME WEIGHT BACK....AHHHHHHHH! (Sorry that is me going insane!)

Dale it is funny that you bring this up because I caught myself this weekend eating and not puting my spoon or fork down to take that break. I'm the same place you are so I'm taking a step back to change this now.

I will hit the 2 year mark on March 2nd and for the past few month I have noticed my intake has gone up to a sensible meal portion. I can actualy go out to eat and not worry, but, like most of us, I pick my battles. No dinner rolls, or anything that is just served as a filler. I drink a glass of water as soon as I sit and wait at least an hour after the meal before I drink anything. I gained 4lbs.(lost 170lb) the last time I checked, but, I really live life one day after the other without worring too much. I just follow basic rules, take my vitamins and enjoy life. The shadows of your past will always be there talking to you, "Don't listen".

The one thing I do a bit too much is drink beer. "I know", "be carefull", but, I have been drinking it for about a year and only 4 lbs. not bad, good trade-off.

nice to see how well you are all doing, keep up the good work!!

Roberto.

Meaghan~
I am glad I was able to calm your nerves.....I promise you, it will be fine. I had the TT with my hernia repair, so that was a bit more involved...and I went through 2 revisions....so I know pain.

I hope all goes well for you....you will love the results. I am very excited for you. It seems like yesterday when you were just pre-op and look at you now. Awesome job.

As for me, well that is a whole other story. I am truly tired of my hernia troubles and just have to hope that my next revision will do the trick.

I know...time flies by. I remember when I met you all I still had 6 weeks to go before my surgery and I thought it'd never come. Now all this! I'm hoping that I'm happy afterwards - but I don't see how I wouldn't be.

I really hope and pray that they get your hernia troubles repaired and soon. I don't know how you have managed this far.... you poor thing! You're in my prayers - you deserve to start feeling good!

Thanks again for your support - it means the world to me!!! bty....thanks so much for the Christmas card - that was sooooo nice to get!
