Default New Baby

Hi! I just want to share with you guys my happiness. Well first it has been the longest since I wrote anything here. But now that Im off from work for a couple months I want to read your comments again & help people if I can.

Well my happiness is.... I had my surgery on Aug. 19, 2004. Then I kept my weight at 155 for like 2 or 3 months. Before surgery i was 240. Well on July of 2005 I got pregnant. I know I did not wait the year. Well my due date was on April 3rd, but my baby decided to come into this world on January 22nd. She was born 2 weeks ago. She was born premature, she weighted 1 lb 10 oz at birth & measures 12 1/2 inches, but she is fine & she is so cute. She is currently at UCSD in Hillcrest & is doing excellent. She wont be able to come home until April, approx on her due date. But she is doing super great. She is a strong little girl. Im so happy & proud of my little princess.

My family thought that because of Gastric Bypass my pregnancy was very difficult (it was not the easiest since the beginning). I asked the Dr & they said it was my placenta the one not working. So it had nothing to do with GB. But Im very happy!! This is why Im not working too, Im on maternity leave. I really wanted some vacation, but I never though I would have to leave my daughter in the hospital. I go every day to see her. Thank God she is fine!!

Well Im glad to be here again. Hope to read from you guys & hope I can help others too. This foru m really helps people, I have givin out this website to many people that want to get the surgery done or that have done it in Tijuana (this is where I got my surgery done).

Thumbs up God is Good

Bless her little heart. I am so glad she is pulling through with no problems. My God-daughter was born 1 pound and 14oz. She is a healthy girl who will be 11 y/o and she is the brain of all her classes. Know your princess is in Gods hands and she is well taken care of. I wish they had better funding so mothers could stay and bound better with their little ones. I have never seen you online but it is nice to have you back. This is a great place to come and get support. Hopefully when she is full-term we will get to see some pictures of her. Congrats on the best blessing a woman could ever receive. My prayers are with you and your princess.

Congratulations on your new little girl! I'll be saying a prayer for you as she sounds as if she's doing fine! I'd like to know lots about your pregnancy after GBS.

Default Congratulations and welcome back

My niece was born in August when she was due in November, weighed 1 lb. 13 oz at birth--she's now eight years old, growing like a weed, bright and shiny all over, and absolutely gorgeous. Your little girl has a beautiful world to experience in front of her!

Default Thank You

Thank you very much for your prayers & best wishes for my daughter. I just called the hospital to see how she is doing, the nurse said she is doing great, tolerating her feeds, she eats thru a tube that goes in her nose 7 goes into her tummy. I pump & that is what she is eating, so far she eats 13 ml of milk every 3 hours & every 12 hours they go up one ml. She is also gaining weight. At birth she was 740 grams, now she is 770grams. And she already has like 3 boyfriends in the ICU, she is just too cute & is very quiet, she doesn't cry much like her other baby friends around her. The nurses tell me she is doing a great job & they tell me Im very lucky she was born very healthy.

When I found out I was pregnant I was super happy but a little confuse since I still had one more month for my one year anniversary on my GB. My family & friends kept telling me to eat more, but how was I going to eat more if my stomach only tolerated a little at a time. So I decided to eat more, I was eating 6 or 7 times a day. But they weren't huge meals. I was eating healthy, eating veggies, fruit, soups, lots of juice, milk & water. I tried to avoid sodas & coffee & I did a good job. But since the beginning I was spotting & went to the ER, they said I needed bed rest for a week (so I took off a week from work), & they said I was weeks pegnant. Then as time passed I was feeling better, the spotting went away but I was always checking. I lost 4 lbs the first 3 months, then gained them back plus 5 more lbs, when I had my baby I was at 160 lbs. I have no idea how much I weight now, but I do feel thinner. The problem with my pregnancy At the end was that the Dr's thought my baby had short femurs (short legs & arms). They were doing ultrasounds every month, then on December they said my baby was just too small & the Dr told me she didn't think the baby would wait until April to be born. And she was right. Then on Jan 17 I went to my regular Dr visits ( I had 3 appts that day, I only made it to the first) I went for a non stress test which was done twice a week (yes I missed alot of work). And during the non stress test they noticed my babies heart went down to 80 & they all freaked out & so did I & they took me right away to the hospital. And I staid in the hospital until the 25th. the Dr's said it had nothing to do with GB, my placenta was not working appropiatly, it was not helping her grow & I wasn't giving her enough oxygen. But thank God she is fine. This kind of things can happen to anyone, I never thought it could happen to me. I have heard that women that go thru GB have healthy babies, but all our bodies are differrent & dont develop the same way. Like me I went thru a c-section to have my baby & the next day I was walking, I had to be extra strong to see my baby, & there are other women that takes them weeks to heal from a c-section or are in pain. This was not my case, but I thank God I was healed soon & now I have the strenght to see my little princess every day. And thank God my husband was with me all the time, he staid every night with me at the hospital, never left me on my own.

So if anyone wants to have a baby dont be affraid, it is the most wonderful experience, every pain, every tear is worth it for your baby. And not all women go thru what I went. It was just my luck & I guess God wanted it to be this way for a reason, but I thank Him only for letting me a mom after 1 miscarriage 4 years ago.

Thank you again for your prayers & best wishes. I will post some pictures here as soon as I can figure out how to.

I have a friend at church who was pregnant with twins and had them 3months early. They were just over a pound and had all sorts of problems. Davey was so tiny that his dad's wedding ring fit the upper portion of his arm loosly. They had heart issues and lung issues, and the whole church was praying like crazy for this sweet family. God is soooo good, though. They came home about 8 months later. They are now a year and a half old, and are the cutest darned things with the best little personalities!!

Your princess will be in my prayers as well
