Scar reduction methods...
Any suggestion to reduce the appearance of scars? I know it takes a year to heal before a scar revision is considered. My PS said I will more than likely need a revision since I had some problems healing in some areas. I've seen some creams on the market and silicone, read about laser therapy. Anyone here with some real life experience?

My PS had me use vitamin E oil and my scars are barely noticable.

The key is to keep them moist.. with whatever you use. Whether it be vitamin E or Derma whatever, lol ! One of my best friends works for a dermatologist and she states thats how ya do it naturally.
SOme of my scars look great, and others look bad..... oh well! I didnt keep them moist either. So my bad!

Hey I want one of those PS, LOL. My PCP did say he would consider referring me after I loose 40 more lbs. Sounds awesome to me. He say a breast reduction and TT would be suffice.

I went to a few PS surgeons and they all told me I had to be at goal and stable before PS and I totally agree with them. I think it is cool that your PCP will refer you to a PS surgeon. It will be so awesome! My PCP not only is against wls, but plastic surgery as well, so I had a rough time.

I used the vitamin E oil faithfully, but my incision down the middle looks icky and got rather large. The small ones where he started to do the lap are ok. Some better than others. My skin just healed weird. I am looking forward to having something done when I finish losing and get all the other nips and tucks done I need!

Hmmm, three months now and I don't see any difference. I was experimenting to see what works. Vit E oil on one section, mederma on another, silicone sheeting on another...etc. I've come to the conclusion that I'm wasting money and should just save up for some laser treatments.

I have had really good luck with plain cheap Vitamin E oil. If you do the laser treatments, let us know how that works out for you. I have never heard of it.
