I'm starting to lose again, thought I was done
In the past three days I have lost 4 pounds. I am starting to lose again and I wonder how much is too much. I mean I look and feel great I have a 32 or a 33 inch waist and I wear a size 42 suit and Large or Medium shirt. I have been at the same weight for about 4 months now. I go up 3 or 4 pounds but then setlle back where I thought was my ideal weight. Now I am dropping again. For my height and weight my BMI is 24.5 which is the upper end of normal. The height and weight charts say 161 to 184. So since I weigh 176 now, should I be freaking out or what?

Since you are still in the range and you feel good/healthy I think it's pre-mature to freak out. Celebrate - you're keeping it off and you feel great! Your diet is balanced, right?

Come to think of it, my doctor put me back on my prescritption for anxiety on 7/6 so it's starting to kick in now as it takes almost a month. Maybe that's it. Higher Seratonin levels equal lesser appetite. My diet is good and I eat a wide variety of foods and take my vitamins, so maybe it's the meds and maybe just my body is saying it's OK to lose a bit more, but if you looked at me you would say, "where is it going to come from?" Your right Bridget it's a trip!

Could be water weight too as it's getting hot out there. I had dropped 4 lbs in one day once after I hit goal. Then it came back. Wait and see if it's a maintianed weight loss or just a temporary adjustment.

Weight Fluctuations
Bill:
I've noticed that since I've reached goal, my weight fluctuates 3 to 4 lbs. regularly. Every once in a while, I'll lose 4 or 5 lbs. for no particular reason, then my body will calibrate and go back up to where it's comfortable. Right now I'm up 3 lbs., but I think I'm starting menopause. I'm having symptoms related to that in addition to the weight gain. So I'm just waiting it out to see what happens the next couple of weeks. I've also been working 12 to 15 hours a day for the past week and I've replaced dinner with snacks (good and bad). However, I know that is temporary and I'll go back to my regular routine next week.
My advice is to wait and see what happens. If you continue to lose, lose, lose, then you might check it out. Otherwise, it may be just an adjustment.
Good luck, buddy. You've done a fabulous job and you look great!

10-15 lbs. above goal weight and okay with it

Dara-
Thanks for your support and compliments!
Since February I was a stable weight. Like you I would fluctuate 3 to 4 pounds within this range. But this past week I went below the bottom of that weight flucuation and have taken off an additional 4 pounds. I was just talking to Christina and she was asking me about my trigger foods. I told her that I have cut out the ice cream and she said that very well may be it. I don't know but I sure am paying attention right now to what I am putting in my mouth and seeing if there is some cause for concern. Hey no way am I complaining but I really don't want to lose any more than I have.

Dara,
What is your regular routine?
I had open RNY 11/2000...lost 112 total, but I'm edging back up toward the 200 mark again. Any suggestions?

For awhile I thought that any time I bought new clothes, that's what triggered the weight loss!
I'm 4 1/2 years out, and for months stayed the same. I thought, "Oh, cool! Lost 225 pounds. Guess this is where my body wants to stay." Then I landed this really cool adult ESL teaching position that involved a lot of walking (about 3 - 4 hours per day). Boom! Dropped 10 pounds the first week, then another five the following week. Then five over the next couple of weeks, then stayed the same. Then --get this-- there were two weeks when we had no clients. Didn't walk as much because I wasn't at work, and gained five pounds. So it looks like my body stays at one weight when I'm not walking a lot, and 20 pounds lower when I am doing a lot of walking. Moral of the story? Don't worry, but make sure I get out and walk even during the no-client weeks!
