Default 1 monht f/u

I just might still be alive. Perhaps there's some hope....Got some good amount of stuff outta my body early today. After that the swelling is half it's size. We'll see if it all comes back or if it's trully starting to heal up inside. I still have to f/u every 3 days to make sure nothing else develops. A hassle, but at least I can start to see a flat tummy again.

I am so sorry to hear of this set back Marie. Is it open enough to start packing? I mean wet to dry will draw out that poison. Any suggestions?

No, it's just the size of the wooden end of a cotton tipped applicator. The doc and I did some extra prodding and we think most of the blood is out. What's left is generalized swelling and some tissue inflammation. I'm going to get it zapped ultrasoniclly to see if the helps to dissolve the damaged tissues, and increase walking more. Now that I can sit and stand relativley straight, I can get more accomplished. It's been 12 hours now and the swelling hasn't gotten worse. My size 4 shorts are loose again. There were times I wanted to just grab a scapel and open myself back up and let it all out at once. That temporary insanity would have started the cycle up all over again.

I just want to take a scapel and open myself up right now and trim down the mesh myself.....I will make a new incision and then run to the ER for closure...lol I really don't know how much more of this my ribs can take.

My therapist thinks I have touch of post surgical trauma stress syndrome. Hmmm, I wonder what gave her that idea. Anywho, the emotional impact is so much more than with bypass for me. For some reason, it seems to hit so much harder, faster , and sooner than with the bypass. I'm thinking that with the bypass, you're taking a sick person and making her healthier, so there's lots of positive things that can happen quickly. With PS, you have a healthy person who's going to look sick for awhile. That wears on you. Add any type of complications, and the feelings are intensified.

Marie-

I sure had some really tough times right after my TT. I felt like I was a mess for a couple of weeks. Worked my way through it but it sounds as if you are right about that same time I was having those feelings. It gets better. Also when everything settles down body wise you will find little areas you thought the surgeon would get. I wish my sides would have come out different but that would mean another surgery and I personally am doing just fine.
