Dale as I have been thinking about your situation the past two days I realized that your weight loss tokk some time. Your weight gain will also take some time as well. It dawned on me last night as Karen and I were coming home froma wedding and talking about you that she made a very good comment. That it took Dale a year to take off the weight. It also will take her some time to put on the weight as well, she has to reverse the trend which is an entire different mindset. I also lost weight after my last surgery TT and got down to where I really wasn't feeling well. I put on 5 pounds and I feel much better weighing what I weigh now. I think in time that you will find the weight you fell the best at as well. Until then have patience and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. See you today at the wedding.

I'm nearly in the same boat with Dale. I'm an inch taller and weighed 120 when I went in for my lower body lift and boobs. I have taken her journey into consideration and am eating more than I have before. I know my body needs extra calories and such. I've reversed the pouch rules and eat every 2 hours, getting in extra protein, fiber, and carbohydrates.

I am trying to eat a protein bar for a snack twice a day (about 30 grams) in addition to good protein filled meals. I am going to see if I can start to build some muscle before I go for my next hernia repair. Maybe this will help you too.

Now if I can only find some protein bars that aren't so sweet tasting!
Marina~

I am adding in some protein shakes to get me to a healthier point. I agree with you in getting some muscle and strength for the next repair. Hey, maybe we will have our re-repairs around the same time.

Bill and Karen~

I am so thankful for you two. You are always thinking of me and I truly feel blessed that you care so much. I am gonna go with the flow and time will tell how well I can re-gain a bit and level off.

You two looked so good at the wedding and I was so happy to see you both.

I am so glad to hear you are ok.....do eat as much as you can. I couldn't eat because they stuffed all of my guts back in with my hernia repair and it was like my stomach shrank back down to a golf ball again. Scripps Encinitas is where I had my surgeries and the nurses never could get my liquid diet to be sugar free no matter how many times I requested it. Finally, on the fourth day in the hospital, they got it right. Hang in there and I am glad you are safe at home recovering.

Default Eating more and nothing

Ok, so I am eating more and trying to increase my caloric intake and it just doesn't seem to do the trick. I am still hanging out at the same weight. I am thinking that eventually my body will level up to where it will be comfortable, so I am gonna sit back and not worry so much. I tried to eat a donut the other day....silly me...I dumped. Don't know what I was thinking and I certainly don't want to eat junk to gain weight. That would be jumping into old habits. I guess as long as I don't continue to lose, I will be ok.

Dale,

Me too, I even lost two and now I am 123. I feel like I am stuffing myself with these stupid protein bars (which are too darn sweet!) and I am not getting anywhere! I am hoping that my body just needs to catch up and then I will build some real muscle. I am sure that you are having to catch up even more after two surgeries in the last month. Let's just hang in there for a little longer and see if things will turn around for us. I have started drinking more with my meals to see if that will help too. So far just makes me a little barfy!

At least I know I am not alone. I hope things turn around for both of us and only time will tell. Off I go to drink a protein shake....lol

Dale-

Keep drinking those protein shakes. You may want to look for a shake that is more of a meal replacement type shake. That may help you get a few more calories and at the same time give your self some good nutrition. I know it's hard to find a shake that tastes good and that whole bit. The vitaminshop has loads of stuff. I was there the other day and they seem to be really helpful and have loads of protein style stuff. The one I went to is in Carmel Mountain Ranch. Five minutes from Dr. C's office. If you are going to the support group tomorrow night you could stop by there before or after and see if they have something to help. Just a thought.

It was good to see you the other day and meet Tino!
