The second surgery extended my TT into a lower body lift (it goes all the way around my body). I also had an arm lift and an inner thigh lift as well as quite a bit of liposuction at that time. I went back to work 1/2 days after 2 weeks with my first surgery and 1/2 days after 2 1/2 weeks with my second. I should have taken more time off but couldn't. Even though I have gained weight since I had the surgeries I am glad I had them done and can still tell the difference in my body.

My sister had GBP and her insurance paid for paneculectomy (sp?) and an inner thigh lift - the kind where the scar goes down the inside of your thigh. She got approved within one week of submission to her insurance company.
What insurance does your sister have?

Is she in san diego ?

I had a 360 degree skin removal that lifted the butt, thighs and flattened the belly. I also has a boob lift and augmented. Though, I don't think you'll need an augmentation I didn't need any muscle tightening done at all. I worked out with free weights, isometric exercises, and my Bowflex. You may still need a lift if you have a lot of saggy breast tissue. I know my hubby's chest sags to his belly. (I've lost 155lbs, he lost 220).

My surgery wasn't covered in any part by insurance. All self paid. Even for my hubby, who has a lot worse skin than I, wasn't able to get it covered by insurance. He even was turned down by a surgeon because he's a smoker too. His surgey, if he stops smoking, will take two operations.

I'm still in recovery, so I'll check back in to let you know how it's going. I had planned for 3 weeks off. I'll take an extra week since I had a complication.

HI Gerry,
Both my sister and I live in Minnesota and she has Preferred One for insurance. A great website with lot's of information (including how to get your insurance to pay) is tuckthattummy.com. They also have a fabulous forum where you can ask all kinds of questions. They were a lifesaver for me when I was going through surgeries.

Thanks for the tip on the site!

Too bad I'm not in NY, I think that surgeon does the best work from the pics posted!

I know - it's amazing what some dr's can do. I shopped around quite a bit before I had mine done. The dr's that did the surgeries don't work with insurance but they were awesome - which is one of the reasons I didn't try to get insurance to pay. My sister had to go where her insurance would send her and that dr didn't do nearly as nice a job as mine did.

I just got done having plastic surgery on July 8th and am happy with the results so far. I had a belt line Lipectomy (incision completely around body and pull up and remove excess skin), Paneculectomy, Hernia repair, and an inner thigh lift all at the same time. I am not sure I would recommend doing all that at the same time to anyone-but I was able to save lots of money by combining things the insurance covered (paneculectomy and hernia repair) with the others they would not, as I did not have to pay for the anesthesia or hospital costs. It cost me $6,000--the insurance paid the rest. They removed 14 lbs of excess skin and in was in surgery about 11 hours!!! I ended up loosing a lot of blood and actually needed a transfusion (3 units of blood). I was in the hospital about 3 1/2 days. I am up and moving around, but really feel like I was cut in half and stitched back together (which I was). My skin is very tight, and I am very tired. My belly button was damaged by my hernia and may never recover. I still am glad I did it. I can't believe I have a flat tummy!!!! I feel like I have a second chance at being a normal person.

Judi-

How long before you noticed the swelling starting to go down? That's the biggest thing I have, I'm all bloated and just can't seem to dump the 20 lbs of water retention. I had 4 units of blood transfused and 12 liters of fluid because of blood loss and fluid shift. Did you need to take a diruetic to help get rid of the excess fluid?

HI Maria,
I know your question wasn't directed at me but thought I would jump in ....I was swollen for about 6 weeks and then would swell off an on - especially when I exercised. It does go away eventually and then you look so darn good you can hardly stand it
