I am finishing day 4 - so starting day 5 tomorrow. I am 3 years out from surgery and was maintaining at 195, 5 lbs lighter than my surgeons goal of 200 but then I stopped smoking in Feb and gained 15 lbs. This has made me realize that I had been snacking A LOT and eating carbs A LOT. Doing this 5 days has really helped me to realize exactly what bad habits I had developed and hopefully has snapped me out of this carb cycle I have been in. I lost 9 lbs in the first 3 days but I'm worried that as soon as I put something in mouth that isn't 100% protein on day 6 that those lbs are going to magically reappear. I feel like I lost them too quickly and too easily, even though I stuck to the diet plan exactly. If you are feeling that your eating is out of control or if you are gaining instead of losing or maintaining, I HIGHLY recommend this. I'm not sure about the sugar/dumping issue. I've maintained my sensitivity to sugar with it only getting "slightly" better over the 3 years so I don't think I'll be much help even when I'm done with my 5 days.

I have begin to question if I have stretched out my pouch at times. It wouldnt hurt to go back to proteins and cut out alot of carbs either. I do have a quick question.

I read somewhere that after doing this people can sometimes desensitize themselves to sugar again. Has this happened to anyone? I need to cut my sugar again. I dont eat alot but I dont dump like I used to either.
I'm late getting to this but hope you are checking. YES!!! You can fix the sugar thing. My husband had gained back a tolerance for sugar. He quit eating it and after not having it for a few months he dumped again. So it is possible to get it back!!
