Default Floppy Arms?

OK, what about the arms? Most are worried about the tummy tuck, but don't mention the arms? Am I the only freak that has these extra things dangling from the arms? I am 8 months post-op and the arms are worse than the tummy. With summer coming on there is no way I am exposing these things for the world to see! Did any of you have them fixed? What was the cost? How was the pain? Any advise would be greatful.

Default Arms

Christina is going to have her arms done in a matter of weeks. I didnt want your post to go unanswered... best to email her for somr advice.

My girlfriend Lupita had her arms and boons done at the same time, cost was $7000. She was off work as a hair dresser for 2 weeks, she said it wasnt too bad.

Good luck, I hope there is someone here that can help you!

I'm 10 weeks out and mine already look horrible. I look like a bat. I have consulted a local surgeon and he said (when I'm closer to goal) it would be around $6000 IF I had it done with the TT.

The way he explained it to me was that if I did the two seperately I would incur additional costs from anasthesia, the hospital fees, and his surgical fees. I don't know if I'll ever do any of it, but I hope I get up the never when I hit goal.

Unhappy Flying Squirrel Syndrome

I have bad upper arms...sorta like a flying squirrel. When I was overweight, my upper arms were big and blubbery. Now that I've lost the excess weight, I have old lady upper arms...saggy, wrinkly chicken skin underneath. They're not so bad when I have both arms down at my sides. But when I lift my arm, it reminds me of my 95-year old grandmother's arm. YUCK!

I want to wear sleeveless tops so badly. But I don't think I have enough excess skin to have insurance pay for it, and I have a daughter in college...I can't pay for it myself. I'm gonna try with the insurance, but I have little hope. boo hoo

I think getting up the nerve is 3/4 of the battle. I am not up for going under the knife again. I hate the thought of leaving my family & my little kids to go to the hospital for surgery. What would happen if there were complications, etc. Have you seen on TV where they are doing a whole body lift on wls patients? I can't imagine what the pain must be. I don't think I could have "everything" lifted and tucked at once! It would save on costs, but wow! And do you ever wonder what you would look like if they messed something up

Dara - Your pictures are so inspiring, I can't imagine your arms that bad! I could only hope to have the success that you have had!

Red face Our Own Worst Critic

Rhonda:

I know that we tend to be our own worst critics. My arms probably are not quite as bad as I describe them to be...I just THINK they're that bad. Thanks for saying such nice things. Your chance to be an inspiration will come soon enough!

I don't like my floppy arms either. As Dara said, as long as there's down, it's not so bad. Every once in awhile I forget and twist my arm a certain way and the loose skin gets all hung up and I get an "indian" burn. The plastic surgeon told me just to not go running around flopping my arms like a chicken. He doesn't think I need it. He said that the scar is so ugly on most people that you have to hve extreme bat wings to warrant getting the skin removed.

Regardless, my floppy arms are still so much sexier that the footballs I carried around. Screw what others or myself might think. I'm going sleeveless and backless this year. Maybe even topless
