I, unfortunately, can eat sugar with very little problem and I am tending to eat constantly. I am even drinking regular soda again.... YIKES. Words of wisdom and encouragement are appreciated. By the way, can you actually "stretch" your pouch by overeating? I have heard conflicting opinions.

Thanks. Hope to talk to all of you longtermers soon.

Just curious.... Are we going to start struggling after a while? thats a scary thought. I failed all my diets in long term. Is that going to happen again.

Not all of us are struggling. Check out the post somewhere here about someone who had WLS 27 odd years ago and is maintaining. I'm doing great. My hubby is maintaining 220 lb loss after 3 1/2 years. I met another gal who has done great for 5 years.

Marie,
Thanks that makes me feel better. I was starting to get worried. I sure didn't want to go through this to fail. My mom told me my Aunt already said she thought I would fail. I didn't understand why and thought that was not very nice.

Hi Lady J!

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your surgery date. After anesthesia, I was woozy, and I could feel a sharp stabbing pain in the sites where they put instruments. My mouth was sore, and I was glad I had chapstick to put on my lips. But I was ok to walk as long as I used the morphine pump.

Hi all I am so glad I found this place. I had my surgery June of 2004 and lost approx 85 pounds and I looked and felt great. Well I just had a baby in April and I am finding it REALLY hard to lose the baby weight...approx 20 pounds. I can pretty much eat anything and that scares me.
Question, have any of you fallen off the program only to get back on and lose more? Will going back to the rules of the pouch really help?
Thanks
Kim

Kim, in a word YES! Protein, not carbs, exercise, water loading, all help lots.
