Default Has your pouch gotten ... smaller?

Hi all,

I'm almost 1 1/2 years out.

Currently I am battling what looks to be an ulcer (non WLS related) but I am only eating the tiniest of food because if the pain. It's been a week now and what I've noticed is that when I do eat .. the smallest meals .. fill me up!

I feel like I felt just after surgery .. which is GREAT! I am hoping I will start losing weight again.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Ulcers - way to go Bella! No, not really, but happy you have "rebonded" with your pouch.
I have no ulcer experience, but how do you know it is unrelated to wls? (Unless of course a mouth ulcer which explains!). I suppose you have been on a "involuntary" 5-day pouch test!.
Speedy recovery Bella,
Cheers,
Vim - in London

HI Vim&Vigour,

The reason I believe this is not related to wls .. is that I have experienced a minor version of this pain .. for years.

I always thought I had just pulled something while cleaning around the house or working out at the gym etc.

I never thought much of it.

Recently, I ate this yummy Indian spicy meal and it became 100 times worse! Plus, I have been under a great deal of stress at my job. So that's when I went into the ER and they are testing me now. Everything has been eliminated so that we are down to 'it must be an ulcer' so I will have the Endoscope thingy done shortly to see where the problem lies.

Niet zo mooi. (not so nice!)

Oh Bella,
Best wishes on your endoscopy! Unpleasant and an anxious moment - better to deal with it now rather than in catastrophy!
Let us know how you get on!
Thinking of you,
Your pal from Europe,
Vim

Bella,

I have two small ulcers at the top of my pouch found by endoscope. I am now on Carafate 4 times a day it is helping the pain is pretty well gone now.

Please take care of it, it can get much worse if you try to tough it out.

May God bless you and yours.
Dave
