Codependency is: Mutually dependent-as an adjetive
as a noun it is: One who is co-dependent or in a co-dependent relationship

According to my psychologist anyways. And like any other addict I can say firmly that Im codependant, I have to rely on outside tangible vices to deal emotionally. Admitting Im this way reminds me Im in control and in touch with my thoughts.

Yes owning up to it is a victory in itself, I just wish I wasnt that way. Hopefully in time, things will be different.

Bridge,
You and I have a lot in common with our kids. We have talked in the past. i do tend to enjoy my wine abit more than before. I do manage it. My problem is I snack too much. When I order lucnh for my office I make it high inprotein and low in fat. Still not good enough. Ny husband makes sure I know this dailey.

Hey Katy! Good to hear from ya.

Yes true we had alot of the same emotional struggles in the past. Good news tho. Elijah is off ALL medication!!! He is just your average, typical, brilliant and lazy teenager! It's a blessing that he was able to overcome and be mature about things now. I wish you nothing but the best.

I used to ALWAYS have alcohol in the house, I could make you just about any martini you wanted, and margaritas as well. Since moving I dont have it my house at all. I found its too tempting of a thing to use when I dont feel right. For now, I just want to try feeling.

Good luck to you Katy!

Yep! I like martini's and Vicoden....those are my 2 new habits that I'm working on eliminating. The alcohol is easy, I don't really drink too often, but when I do, I love the pomagranite martini's....but the Vicoden is a problem. I have tried to stop it myself, and am not doing well, so I will go to the doctor when I return from Florida next week and get some professional help! I never thought I'd be one of those people, but here I am! It sneaks up on you! I thought I was too old and too smart! haha! NOT!!!

Default My transfer was spending

Well actually I had that before but kept it under control with food...I constantly amaze myself with the level of denial I'm willing to live in......

My spending has been under control since mid March and the food snacking thing is rearing it's ugly head....

I joined D.A. recently and applying those tools to eating as well...so far this morning so good.

Kitten,

I spent 3 days in the hospital in Nov 06 to get off Vicodin, that I quickly got hooked on from my surgery in September. I was takign the liquid version and in that short time I became totally addicted. It scared the life out of me. It was a hard ugly detox for about 3 weeks, the first 5 days were the absolute worst, but my hubby was there and supported me and I haven't had any vicodin since one week before Thanksgiving. I remember checking into the hospital and goign into the bathroom and taking one last slug... just in case I needed it...amazing.

Do what you have to and know that getting back your life is the true success!
