Default feel hot during/after meals

I had my RNY in 12/05 and have maintained my 105 lb weight loss (give or take 5 lbs) since. For the last couple of months I've been experiencing an unusual symptom and I don't know if it's related to surgery, but since it's food related I have to consider that it might be. During and after most meals I'm breaking out into a sweat and am uncomfortably warm. It passes after 20 min or so.

Has anyone else had this happen? Any clues what might be going on?

Default Sounds like...

It sounds like you're dumping. If I eat too many carbs or too much fat or sugars I still get that feeling. It's not so bad now but I ocassionally still experience it. For example, yeaterday I made french toast for breakfast, I even used sugar free syrup, but had to go lay down for about a 1/2 hour untill it passed. It's not as terrible as I've had in the past but like I said I still ocassionally dump.

I've had dumping prior and this feels different to me. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to be related to what I'm eating at all. It's happened with just bacon and eggs - almost carb-free.

Default Humm....

Prior to my revision, everything I ate made me feel hot, dizzy, lightheaded, (almost like having the flu). Maybe you should have a checkup and make sure all the "plumbing" is still working properly.

Sharon has a good point. It does sound kind of liking dumping. I've heard that if your anastamosis has stretched out the food that you eat can dump faster into your system and occasionally giving these kind of symptoms. You may want to see about getting an EGD done and take a look.

What you're describing sounds like my "too much fat" dump. I dump differently on sugar, but fat makes me sweat and feel really flush and death-worthy. Good luck on your hunt for the cause.
