Default Possible Obstruction???

I know there has been a few guys here that have had an obstruction. My question is what exactly does it feel like? I have been diagnosed already with gallstones. However, my insurance is screwing me over & not allowing me to go see my bypass surgeon. I saw a local quack surgeon & he told me that my pain is caused by an obstruction & not my gallbladder. He order an upper GI series for me. The bad thing is that the only place that has the equipment to do the test is booked up until 3-31. I am in pain & may have an obstruction & they want me to wait 5 weeks???!!!! WTF!!!

Does anyone have an suggestions? I am desperate and I don't know what else that I can do. I know that if I can ever get to see my bypass surgeon I know that he will fix me up as good as new.

Could you go to the emergency room?

Also, how can the insurance stop you from seeing your surgeon if there are required follow ups? Since he's the one who did your surgery, and they approved you for it, it seems as though they are screwing you over. Have you called or written an appeal yet?

I am over 2 years post op & I have completed all of my insurance approved follow up visits.

As far of the ER, I have thought of going to the ER where my surgeon is located, but the clause in my insurance states that if I am within 20 miles (which I am) of a "contracted hospital" I must go there instead otherwise they will ship me to a contracted hospital by ambulance.

I am aleady on me 3rd appeal & I have already appealed to the State HMO Board as well. No luck.

What if you "visit" the area where your surgeon's hospital is and go the ER anyway, then complain that you are in too much pain to be moved?

If I visit & go to the ER & I am not admitted then I will be responsible for a $500.00 copay. Which at this point I am willing to pay, but my husband is out of work & I am the sole sourse of income. In other words... I'M SCREWED!

Thank you so much for your ideas.
