Thumbs down Something real strange

Hanyone had this go on?
Every night around 8:30 - 9:00 I start getting the feeling I'm going to puke.
Sometimes if I drink a lot of water, it subsides, but most of the time I start dry heaving for 5-10 minutes or so.
This has been happening for about 3 months.
I had been taking Reglan for my intestines (keeps them moving) but I got tired of taking so many drugs. I asked my PCP if I could wean myself off of everything I was taking (except the pain meds & hypertensive drugs).
I guess that the Reglan was helping more than just the motion. I was reading that they also give this to people that have nausea.
So back to taking Reglan regularly.
I've asked several doctors about this and no one can give me an answer...
So I thought I'd ask the people who know about this stuff.

The only thing that comes to mind for me is - how big are your meals now that you're further out. I sometimes get this same feeling about an hour after I eat which is very late but I've put it down to eating too much - no longer on half a cup that's for sure!

Hope someone can give you some guidance on this one.

Unhappy Eating

My pouch gets full after 3/4 cup. I can push it to 1 full cup, but it takes me almost an hour for that!
I've tried eating real slow, eating smaller meals more often, eating different things...
Nothing seems to change the fact that without Reglan, I get real "Barffy" as my daughter calls it. Wierd I tell ya!!

I'm no expert, but have you been checked for an ulcer?

I'm no expert either, but I do work for a GI practice....I'd say get an EGD just to be sure. (it's a tiny scope w/a camera on the end...they pass down your throat and look into your esophagus and stomach for ulcers, etc.). Never hurts to take a look!

Dave - I agree with the others - please get yourself checked out. How are you feeling today?

Dave,
Could you be pregnant? I had that for 9 months. LOL! I'm just kidding. Go get yourself checked out. I hope you feel better.

I made the Dr appt for Feb 29th. I'll ask for that test then. I've started to take my Reglan regularly, so am not throwing up or nauseous anymore...

Cool ~Update~

Well I had a meeting with both my PCP & Surgeon.
Both have stated what I thought they were going to say.
On my last GI test, it was found that my intestines are in a static mode.
In other words, they are not moving as normal.
It's why Dr. Callery put me on Reglan. It helps my guts move normally.
Guess I get to live on this 3-4 times a day for the rest of my life.
My PCP had some records way back when I was 21-28. I was having a lot of upper & lower intestinal problems. They couldn't really put a diagnosis to it, so the internist at that time put me on an IBS drug. That made my life easier.
So now I have the opposite problem and have to take the drug that will help.
Case closed as they say!
