Default were all going through the fear

the trick is to be brave. easier said then done. Especially for me. I'm worried about not losing anymore weight. but im sure i will in time. I found that what works for me is to have peanut butter and crackers it stick with ya for a while and fills up your pouchy. Also I keep a bag or jar of almonds or nuts to much on they're high in protien. i cant tolerate those protien drinks or bars so i have to find other alternatives. other than that i would recommend you trying the 5 day pouch test. to challange yourself. It worked for me last week and i've made it my personal goal to do the test every other week or so. Hope this helps.

It's inevitable that we will find ourselves at this crossroads. The point where the fear of gaining became a reality with those 5 pesky pounds. This is normal, and your normal for freaking out and getting it out there.

You are not alone in the struggle, I struggle daily to eat the right thing, make the right choices and NOT gain weight.

Might I suggest journaling your eating and exercising? Putting on paper everything that crosses your lips during a day can be daunting, but the reality of what you are seeing can be rewarding and determent for snacking.

http://www.Fitday.com has a free program that allows you to keep track of what you eat, calorie counts, protein levels...weight...etc...

Best of luck...and congrats on all the work it took to get here!!

Drink water when you feel hungry and because it rushes through if you are hungry 30 minutes later have PROTEIN (cheese sticks, protein bar, lean lunch meat, nuts, edamame...whatever). Journal not only what you eat, but the times, and what you are feeling when you eat - you may even want to rate your hunger on a scale of 1-5 at the time you eat. Watch the pattern for a few months. Its 5 pounds. Thank God its not more - you can do this. Do also a search on "Pouch Rules for Dummies" (no intention meant - it just the title) to take you back to the basics and start from there

Wink No worries!

You've caught yourself and that's the best thing! I read over the Pouch Rules for Dummies and it's really good. I know how you feel though, I'm less than 3 months out and was up 1 stinking pound last night, I panicked!! I tried on every pair of pants I had to make sure they fit the same and berated and worried myself to death over it. I felt like I'd failed myself and everyone else, until I weighed this morning and over half that pound was gone. Yes, I'm a dork and yes I was sneaking in the chocolate. Now I recognize the ERROR OF MY WAYS and today got back on track. You will too. You're beautiful and an inspiration and you have to know you will never be a "fat girl" again! We all get to slip sometimes, right????

I'm proud of you and you'll get it right back off!!

Steph

I know I do not want to be fat again! To make that a reality I need to make some changes and do not know where to start. Well I know where to start stop eating the crap but how do I overcome the hunger? I need some help with snack ideas. If anyone has any suggestions or just wants to slap my hand please feel free. I have finally come to terms with my food addiction so why do I continue to hurt myself? It's just food for goodness sakes. I know it taste good but who said we need to eat for taste not nourishment? Off my soap box now, I just needed to voice my problem to understanding people so I canget back to reality. Last thing I want are the snickering looks from others that suggest that this too wouldn't work and yeah she's not so hot now is she. They are out there waiting to say it.
I'm glad you posted this. This holiday season was tough for me as well. I ate and partied way too much and didn't exercise the way I should. As a result I have put on 5lbs I have nobody to blame but myself and I am back on the right track.

My posting this, is my way of holding myself accountable. I'm not one for sharing personal stuff on the board but I think that this is the only way for me to be honest with myself. Anyway...thanks for your honesty as well.

You can add me to the "gained 5 lbs. club". I must have had 30 cookies since Thanksgiving. Way more carbs than usual and less lean protein. But I think I'm back down a couple already, just by returning to my good snacks like string cheese, soy crisps, and nuts. What a wonderful tool!

We've all been there..done that. I had gained 15 lbs, 10 lbs over my usual range. I started South Beach diet just before thanksgiving and dropped 10 lbs during the first 2 week no carb hell. I'v dropped another lbs and am trying for those last 4. I'm 166 and wear a size 4 on the bottom, I can wear anything from a small to large or a 8-14 on the top. I have really broad shoulders and it seams that tops are smaller cut than bottoms these days. Just go back to basics. If you hungry, are you not eating 5-6 small meals a day like you are supposed to? I'm usually only hungry when I don't eat regularly. Are you getting slack with exercise? I've been reading about research that was done that said that exercise doesn't help with weight loss as much as it helps with weight maintenance. Don't know if that's true but it never seem to help me lose more weight. But it is helping me to keep it off. Now that you are aware of the problem, review what you are doing and get a plan in place to get back on track. Like Zen said, keep a food and exercise journal. Weight can also flucuate as much as 5 lbs a day either up or down depending on water rentention, slow moving bowels, etc. This is a normal thing and I think I can speak fo most, if not all of us, that we will have to watch out for the rest of our lives or the weight will come back on. Good luck. SUe

Default Exact same weights

I have never posted anything on here but your starting and current weight are the exact same as mine and I am fighting the same battle. I am 7 yrs out and for the first time am gaining weight and contrary to what one reply says, 5 lbs is 5 lbs. None of us got fat in one lump sum,... we all gained it one pound at a time so any gain is cause for action. I have made all the excues but reading your comments hit reality.... I have to stop snacking, follow the rules for water, and get up and do some kind of exercise. I hope that I can encourage you to do the same. Maybe we can help each other.
