Default Do you still get that painful full feeling

I am almost two years out and I have noticed over the last 2 months that I don't get that lower chest upper abd pain to know when the tank is full. I am sure if I kept eating it would come, but I don't think that portion would be appropriate. I never have that ravenous hungry feeling (although I food lust), but I also don't get that full feeling.

I feel like that Rightous Brothers song "I've lost that full feeling....whoa that full feeling?" Was wondering if this is normal and is this where learning your lesson comes in to keep the weight off and not look for signals, but choose what and how much to eat?

Diane - based on your post, I did the banana test . . . One year out, I still couldn't eat an entire large banana without feeling sooooo full. Yep, at one last night and thought . . .. hmmm . .. not full. Damn. Portion control still is my weakness - but eating on small plates has helped me tremendously. But DAMN, I didn't think I could eat a whole banana and NOT feel stuffed!!!

I've heard of the cottage cheese test, but not the banana test. I thought hide the banana was for something else....lol.

So I take it you just go by portion size and not external cues unless you feel full prior to finishing

Default I agree!!

I am 9 months out and I have been able to eat a whole banana for months without feeling full. Granted I don't eat anything else, but I probably could. It really bums me out!!

I have the similar problem.
It scares me, so I try to look at my portion on the plate and determine if that is appropriate to maintain my weight loss.
I give the portions worth, such as protein 2 -4 ounces, veggies 1 cup, unless it is salad, I can eat allot of salad, and little to no starch, but if it is there, I eat it cautiously and pick it to pieces so I do not start consuming it like the old days.
Leaves my plate looking gross when I am done, but I am so used to folding up a napkin with left overs and trashing it after every meal, that if I didn't it would feel strange now.
The tool is definitely less of a control freak after 2 years out...I am coming on to year 3 soon and want to keep off the 130 pound weight loss.
Still wish I could have got to 155 but every time I start a "weight loss" plan, I gain weight and start having those deprivation feelings again....I wish I could get past that, but since I can't I am focused on maintaining....maybe this weight is my goal!!!

Default Mind Over Matter!!!!!

Hi, my 3rd b-day was 9-15 . I still get that full feeling sometimes, but only when I have been eating just a small amount on a constant basis. If I am running around and forget to eat until late in the day I will not be able to eat a lot, and defiantly get that feeling then. I noticed during the last year and a half, that the “feeling” seemed to be lessening, This is where we all need to be careful. Mix it up.. What I mean is change your routine. Do different things on different days and times. This seemed to help me. I was soooo scared when I did not get FULL as quick as before, although I have always been able to eat more then they told me I would be able to, like from day ONE… My current weight 122. I lost 13 pound in the last week and a half….due to stress!!!...YES the tool does still work…even when you are not trying to make it work. Try not to focus on food, and stick to the rules as much as possible, I know everyone always harps on that, but really this is the only way to make sure we do not fall back on old habits!!!! sometimes this is not easy…but we have all come along way, and learned soo much just to let food be our pleasure pleaser . If you are going through a tough time tape an old picture of your self on the frig, in the bathroom. If you have any old clothing put that where you can see it…. Once you have done that… get a current picture and tape that up next to it, the same with clothing….It really does help…you Will start getting your mind to refocus!! GOOD LUCK

I still get it sometimes. But not often. Portion control is the key at this point. WIsh I still had it all the time though. sigh
