Default Almost ashamed....but not really.

I said ALMOST...

So my son and I go to get coffee pretty much everyday...well to save money I have been doing the Gas Station version of Starbucks...not the same but I just pretend and save four bucks while pretending.

Well ...today as drove to the gas station we passed Starbucks.Nick said ,"Hey Mom..what is that big bus there for?"...I looked and it was the "Red Cross" blood mobile and in HUGE RED LETTERING it said....FREE COFFEE and SNACK!!!!!!

You know I did a U turn at the next light...illegal one at that

Nick is too young but wanted to watch...

I marched right up on the bus...showed ID..filled out the paperwork...and then my dreams of a Free SB White Mocha were crushed...

The Nurse pricked my finger..dropped my blood in the cooper stuff and it just floated at the top..never fell...LOL...(I am anemic and have been for over a year now)...I panicked and asked if she would stick another finger..Yes, I got that.."Ummm NO Crazy Lady"...so anyway the only thing I got was a slip of paper saying I was a deferred blood doner with a list of foods high in Iron and a sore ring finger

I did this for STARBUCKS....

I guess I am now selling my blood for Coffee..

Funny thing is..I knew better...I couldn't give blood..have not been able to for over a year...But the FREE COFFEE sign sucked me in.

Oh well....

Default if it's any consolation

A lot of times the "free" something is usually the bare minimum thing. I know i signed up for a "free" meal at my fav restaurant. When we went, it was a slice of their "pizza" I was hoping for one of their wonderful saladswith a bowl of soup.

Either way, your story made me smile.

I would have been happy with one of those..."We made your drink wrong" free coupons...

I didn't get the "Thanks for trying you silly anemic girl" coupon.

Some people sell their bodies ...I will sell my blood (one day) for coffee.

You WIN the prize Van! If you PM me your address, I'll send you what's left of my pre-op SB card. I think there's about $10 on it still. I've only tried SB once post-op and forgot to tell them SF. Luckily I remembered before drinking it and didn't have a Dyann moment. Anywho, with the LI and the dumping, I'm just too scared to try SB for now. I know another card will be coming my way this Christmas so maybe I'll try again then.

It's all yours for the price of a PM.
