Beth..that is just wonderful news. I wish the date weren't so far away, as long as it took them to approve it I don't want them to have any time to say ...oops..we made a mistake. Get it done before they change their mind! I'm so happy for you! How virtuous you are by the display of patience you've shown.

Thank you everyone!! You all have been great waiting with me, crossing whatever you could cross and encouraging me. I tell you this approval felt like it took FOREVER to get here! I actually haven't received an official letter but the scheduler in my PS office received a call from my insurance case manager. She said that she was looking over all of my paper work and that I will be approved....so they better NOT change their mind!!!

I too wish the 21st of September wasn't soooo far away. I have to tell you that 6 weeks feels like FOREVER but in many ways it will work out better for me and my family. This way school will be back in swing, I'll have ALL 6 weeks of my medical leave saved up which takes a HUGE load off of my mind and it gives me a bit more time to scrounge up the needed finances. So even though I wish it was scheduled for next week...I'm just fine with 6 weeks. *L*
All I can say is they better not make it any later!! The 21st is actually a tentative date. Apparently the hospital that I am having the surgery in can't totally commit to such a huge junk of OR time until the week before. I'm not thrilled with that idea but I wanted this particular hospital for my surgery and that is the way it is handled. I had the option of 2 other hospitals both of which would be ok...they are good hospitals....but this one is "home" for me. I've worked there 30 years, grew up with it because my Dad worked there, had my wls and kids there...and well...it is also the one with the Bariatric Unit which is where I will be having my room post-op. I like that idea because it will be nurses who know Bariatric patients...So though, the tentative date isn't something I like it just feels right to have picked my second home for this surgery.

So thanks, once again....you all have been great helping me keep my sanity!
