Default Pizza 10 years out???

I just found out that my mom's friend (who is absolutely beautiful) had GBS 10 years ago. By looking you never would have guessed (I guess that is the point, afterall), I was shocked. The reason why I would have never guessed is because she can eat a personal pizza and jamba juice etc. and is fine after. Can you really start eating pizza and such after you've been out for a while? Maybe just on occassion? I guess I just have always thought that pizza was always going to be a "no no". Hmm.

I eat a piece of pizza every once in a while. I take the smallest piece. It's a nice treat. Of course I am 3 years out!

I do pizza as well, only a piece or so, I usually eat one piece and pick the toppings off the 2nd piece. I dont do Jamba Juice, I dump real bad on it.

I'm just under two years out and I'll have a single slice and eat about 3/4 of it. For some people it's a trigger food so maybe they might stay away. Some people might dump from the carbs in the crust. Everyone is different, and reacts differently to each food. You never know what you can and can't tolerate until you give it a go. Somethings, just aren't worth the risk though, lol

yep, I do a slice of pizza every once in awhile too. I make sure I get the thin crust and have an all veggi pizza, light on the cheese and sauce. One piece pretty much fills me up. I used to love pizza but these days it just doesn't taste as good as it used to.

Pizza,

I eat a slice and it is ok. Early out, I could only scrape the toppings off and didn't find it tasty at all. Now, I will eat a slice and be done with it. Prior to wls, I would take 2 of the biggest, cheesiest pieces...polish those off and eat some cinnamon twists with it...and some breadsticks...only to go back for another slice...and then some. I would wait and later have another slice for a midnight snack. Funny, how one slice now is just fine...a small one to boot.

Default Sometimes you can sometimes you can't...

Remembering what my doctor told me. You may be able to eat something today and tomorrow it will make you sick. There are days where you will be able to tolerate certain foods and then the next time you try to eat them get terribly sick on it. Why? I don't know but I do know it has happened to me too. During the first year when everyone was having pizza, I would take a small piece and just eat the topping off of it. I was terrified to eat any bread of any sort. I can eat pizza now but get that really full feeling after as the bread expands in your stomach after you've eatten it. Sooo... moderation is probably the best answer. Set a limit and stick to it and you should be fine.
