for the most part, I try to avoid empty calories.
Pizza crust is empty so I try to only eat a bite or 2 of the crust, but load the piece with veggies and protein and just eat the toppings.

I'm 4.5 years out. It was just in the past year I could eat any bread or pasta. It just filled me up too much. It's been nice to be able to have a little bit now. It's a GOOD thing I couldn't tolerate it before. The carbs don't cause me to gain any weight at this point.

I would wait and later have another slice for a midnight snack. Funny, how one slice now is just fine...a small one to boot.
Oh I remember those days. I would order a large pizza all for myself. I'm so glad those days are over!

I eat pizza...........never had Jamba juice, but generally avoid sugary drinks......and of course don't eat and drink together.

The smell of pizza is still yummy, but to actually put it in my mouth and taste it......BLECH! Things just aren't what they used to be. That greasy taste and feeling just makes me wrench. Not to mention it hurts my wittle pouch! Believe me, you WON'T miss it if your taste changes for it.

I Jamba Juice three times a day, and will eat a couple bites of pizza on occasion. I can only consume two to three bites of regular foods, doesn't matter what they are. So I graze on food all day and get my smoothies with all the protein powders and stuff. Works out ok now. Janie

I have tried Pizza but I can't chew it enough for my pouch to give me the ok.
I loved Pizza and now when we order it...My DH sets a slice aside and I pick at it or take a huge bite ...chew chew chew chew and spit it out.I get to taste all the pizza juices but with out the tummy ache and vomiting.

Even if I could eat pizza...IMO I think that eating a WHOLE personal pizza seems like a TON of food....Is it just me?I don't care if your 10 years out, thats a lot of food for one person at one sitting..IMO.

I am new to this board, but I am a little over 3 years out and I eat like I have never even had the surgery. I can eat half a pizza (tombstone, jacks) before I am full. I can hear your gasps now.
This is my problem. I have had 2 kids since the surgery and my eating habits got sloppy. I eat whatever I want until I am full and drink alot of water with each meal which doesn't help keep me full for long and graze quite a bit during the day when I am home with the kids.
I came to this site to get motivated again to make the right choices. There are so many people who have a lifetime of dumping and not being able to eat certain foods and then there are folks like me who are at the other end of the spectrum.
The only good thing I am doing is excersising 4x per week, but I am seeking a mentor(s) Any help is appreciated.

Back to basics. That is the best advice I can give ya! STOP DRINKING with food. That should be your first task. Once you get that under control, then you can deal with the other issues. First and foremost...stop the drinking with meals....Best wishes....
