Default Reversals?

Well guys...

Saw the doc this morning after yet another long painful weekend and she thinks maybe I should consider a reversal. It's been a month and I"m still having more bad days than good. She is concerned that my labs are poor even though I'm getting in food and supplements... the pain is never gone these days...

My questions is do you know anyone that has had reversal? I'd like ot see some stats on it and I've been trying to find stuff on the internet but not much luck.

The doc said some bodies just can't handle it and although she doens't like the option of reversal it might be my only choice. I start TPN this week to get stable and build up strength. I have to donate blood a few times before and she wants me to seriously think about scheduling for September.

I don't mind admitting that I'm scared... or terrified might be a better word. I'm sitting here crying thinking why isn't this working for me. Crying because not sure I can handle the unknown at this point... what if it doens't work and I'm just subjecting my body to more pain, scar tissue and depletion... What if it's to late....

Any sage words of advice for you guys would be great....

I'm sorry I have no advice or even knowledge. But I just wanted to tell you that we are a family here and are on your side. I hope things get resolved somehow....your health is the number one priority. Hang in there.

I have no advice either. I am sure you are scared. I have never heard of a reversal. I wasn't sure that was possible. Take care

Paige,
I am so sorry it's come to this. Your first consideration must be your long term health and wellness. It really truly does sound like you have a doctor this time who is ON the ball and looking out for your best interest.

OH Paige!!!!! This is not what I wanted to hear from you honey. My heart aches for you for all the problems you have been having. TPN? I'm so sorry. I wish I had some answers for you, but I just don't. It scares me for you to think of you having the reversal. I just don't know what to say to make this better and there probably is nothing. All I can do is send you all the long distance ((((((((HUGS))))))))) I can. Please know I'm thinking about you and I'm so sorry it has gotten this bad for you. Try to keep your spirits up, k? Positive attitude means a lot when going through so much.

I don't know of anyone who had a reversal done. I know it is a very difficult surgery and has even greater risks than the initial bypass. I haven't seen the stats on it either. Here's a book written by someone who went through a reversal. I haven't read it. It might be useful in your case to order it from Amazon or any other bookstore.

Default Paige...

there is a young man that I work with who's future mother in law had a reversal done. She is doing well. Would you like for me to approach him and see if she's willing to talk with you via e-mail? I'd be happy to ask him if you'd like. Let me know. I'll see him tomorrow. Wish you felt better at least every now and then. My heart aches for you too.

Ahhh Tirna... you are my hero... you push forward without ever complaining... when I grow up I want to be like you and Van and Carrie

The TPN will be a good thing I'm hoping get me out of this light headedness and crazy malnutrition. Need to bulk up a bit before they can do the surgery because I'll be on the table a while she said also to donate blood which i can't do yet so I'll have my own if they need it.

I'm going to keep trying.... maybe a miracle will happen and I'll feel better!
