Cool Do any of you forget....

Do any of you post-opers ever forget to eat?

I am finding out that I have overcome the "Head Hunger" issues that used to TOTALLY CONTROL my life pre-op.

This last year I have been working very hard on asking myself, "Is this real hunger or is it that evil little voice in my head saying "Oh... just one bite, then another soon to follow, Oh... just have one more little bite, and then another..." you all know the little voice I am talking about

Lately I have been waking up, having my coffee and vitamins and then 4:00 or5:00p.m. rolls around and think to myself, oh my... I haven't eaten anything ALL DAY! The Head hunger is now TOTALLY GONE!

I know its not a good thing, I was just curious if any of you have also had this happen

I wish - well, in some ways. (The old thinking of don't eat - don't gain.) But with me, if I don't eat regularly, I get a little shakey or weak. I don't think I have enough protein stores yet to go a long time without food. And if I don't eat the right food - I can go even less time. It helps keep me on track anyway!

Yeah I can forget to eat, and it gets me sick. I eat constantly now.. I don't forget in fact I make sure I get all my nutrition in.. I count it by the number of protein grams I get. Janie

I definitely forget to eat! I too get shaky at times when I realize I have not had much of anything for a few days. That is when I have to really kick it in gear and get the nutrition going again. I hate when I do this and not force myself to get it in. I honestly think I could go four or five days without food. Most of the time when I eat, it's because I know I need it. I hardly EVER have even close to what resembles a hunger feeling anymore. It's odd considering before surgery I would even wake up during the night and eat sandwich! Can we all figure out why "I" was fat????? LOL

ACTUALLY you have got to eat more for survival then out of need. GLAD you got the head hunger issues in control.

I wasnt able to go without eating meals the first 12 months...and the reason i later learned was that i had a ulcer. I didnt realize that it wasnt normal to feel so icky when not eating and i learned eating eased it .WELL after the ulcer bled i learned that was my problem!
BUT do try to get some protein in thru your day so that you dont get
deficient in any important areas. PROTEINS do have the most of what we need !
hugs
glad your doing well with head hunger

You know that's funny - at work, I always have lunch, b/c it's a break in my work day . . . but on dinner - I find myself cooking for my hubby and kids, taking a bite or two to taste to make sure it's not too hot for the kids, or seasoned right - then I clean the kitchen while they eat . .. and later I think, hey, did I eat? I don't have hunger at night at all . . . which was a problem in the old days.

I am having big issues with forgetting to eat-I am never hungry! I get shaky and weak too-low blood sugar. I teeter back and forth between 103 and 99 lbs. I'm really trying to stay on top of this issue, but as you all know, it is hard to eat when you aren't hungry!
