My ulcer med seems to be doing the trick and I have even been eating shredded roast in teenie tiny bits, but I get about half a cup or a little less down now! Chicken is still a big "iffy", but I do get it down sometimes too. Beef is always better for me I have noticed. I have discovered a new way to make the taste of a hamburger without actually "eating" the hamburger in hamburger form. I scramble lean ground beef and then put ketchup, mustand, and pickle on an open faced piece of bread and put the scrambled meat on it and the ketchup helps it to stay put and then I eat it with a fork. Man that is GOOD! I can eat about half or alittle over half of it. It's true..where there is a will, there is a way. On the other hand, I'm gonna lie and say I haven't been eating so you have to come down here!

Ohhhh, pardon my error....but I errored in saying half....I DID understand you meant 1/3. That is NOT enough calories!!!!!!! I better get packing to head South!

What are you guys eating to get so much in and how do you have room for other things such as fruits and veggies? I just dont see how all that can be put into one cup three times a day and one snack. I guess I need some help here. I have to use protein smoothies and this is how I get my protein in, but if I use milk and yogurt with protein powder then I could easily get 300 calories in one protein smoothie. There goes almost one third of my calories for the day. HELP! I'm really curious what everyone eats in a day. I feel like I eat too much sometimes and all I eat is protein, no veggies, or nothing else most of the time. You guys must can eat more at a time and live strictly on cheese and meat. I wonder about calories though. Do you count calories???? I've even limited my coffee intake because I use instant coffee with powdered milk for a milk base to add protein and then a little creamer and I can easily get 200 calories in a 16 oz cup of coffee just from the creamer and tons of powdered milk for protein. So basically a cup of coffee could be considered almost a meal if I'm counting calories. I'm SOOOO confused now. I remember when I didnt worry about calories and I had weight falling off. Now that I worry about them, I can't seem to lose one darn pound! Somebody help me!!!!!!!! I wish I knew if everyone counted calories. I hate those darn little things and would never count another one if I didn't have to.
You need way more than 900 a day in calories! I'm eating between 1100 and 1300 and still losing weight... can't seem to stop the damn thing! I've been using fitday to count my intake and doing pretty good. Maybe if you increase your intake of real food your body will stop panicking and start the losing process again. When it all comes in liquid form I think our bodies just say "no way" and hang on to whatever they can.

As I've posted before I use unjury protein supp.. they will send you a free sample if you want to try it.

We are so similar... I eat beef and pork much better than chicken, I started using more milk than before with the added benefit of making me less loose in the stool. I'm trying really hard to get all my protein from food but I will supplement if I have too. I started taking an ulcer med and I'm getting better as well. Still have that damn light headedness daily but working on it!

Take care of yourself dear

Hi thanks to all who have posted on this thread, very helpful information. I don't worry about my caloric intake as I have a problem keeping weight on me. So for me I can easily get 100-120 grams of protein in smoothies during the day. One Jamba Juice is 24 grams. One cup of milk depending on what percent or soy is 5-10 grams. I might consume 2000-2500 calories a day on a good day. On a bad day it's somewhere around 1500.

Things I've noticed since I've increased protein.

Hair is coming back in (lots of new growth)
Nails are very strong and don't shred like they used to.
Color back in my face
Weight is more stable (fluctuate 5-7 lbs)

I shoot for 75 grams of protein a day, and I eat less than 1000 calories as well. I have maintained this weight without losing anything for over 2 years doing so. You wonr get thinner than your body can handle, but you do need the protein for overall good health ad working body parts! Focus on protein, dont worry so much about calories! Good luck to ya!

Jamba Juice is very good! I have had a few different kinds and never had any dumping. From what I understand....the Jamba Juice has natural sugar from the fruit, which doesn't bother us. I guess everyone is different though.

My doc said not to worry about counting calories but to concentrate on trying to get between 65-85 grams of protein a day. Its worked so far for me, of course I'm just shy of 9 months out and still 40 pounds from my goal, so when I get closer to goal I'll probably pay more attention to my caloric intake than I do now.

Default Low sugar Jambas...

I get an instant stomach ache when I drink anything that is not on the low sugar menu. I drink the Berryfullfilling large with double protein, and fiber boost. It is around 40 g of sugar.. I can tolerate that much. The higher sugar Jambas have over 100 g in some of them, OUCH! Janie

1000 calories is not enough to maintain that weight.. unless you're a very short person! LOL Janie
