Question Any 5 yrs out or longer????

Just wondering how things are for you now. Any regrets? Is there anything that has caused issues this far out that you wished you had known about?

Thanks, Jamie

My wife is 9 years out from her own open RNY. She has maintained her 100 lb loss without much difficulty and zero problems - in fact her positive experience inspired me to have my own WLS surgery.

if you have any specific concerns or questions, let us know

Default No regrets

I started having some problems about a year and a half ago. July 23 will be five years for me. I would definately do it again with out regret. I will be undergoing a revision on April 25th. Hopefully it will cure the dumping, bloating etc. What I understand it that they will be removing about 1 foot of bowel and doing some work on the arms that come off the stomach. I was the one wondering if anyone else had to have this same sort of procedure done. I was 268 lbs when I had surgery. I've lost down to 124 and been up to 149 holding around 130. Was 124 a year ago but it's winter and I haven't been walking and my treadmill died. Got a new elipitical bike hope it helps. Glad to have found this site. Brings me back to the basics.

I have a problem with the addiction part, but not 5 years out. I am addicted to buying cute little clothes...but I will take it over gorging myself with food.

I know a few that are 5 years out or more and doing well.

Default had surgery 9/23/01

hi there. I had surgery in 2001. With dr callery in poway,ca. I had a messy divorce after surgery (like six months) so I ended up drinking beer.. I know.. beer.. so bad.. but i still lost 100 pds.. I've pretty much kept it off. Though it seems harder to lose now. .It is only a tool so try to learn and use it.. I did gain about 15 pds back.. and have been on weight watchers.. even though I can't eat as much as I used to.. I can eat. I feel hungry all the time.. This really has only been happenning the last couple of years.. The first four was easy. Anyways. I've been having problems with Vitamin b-12 and B1 deficencies. That's why i'm on here. I have took a multivitamin from day one.. never missing a pill. But the last year or so i've been really tired and weak.. I've learned i'm b-12 deficent and going to be tested for B1 deficency soon. (doctor didn't do it at the same time ) but anyway. .has anyone else experienced this ?? also if you have any questions i'd be more than happy to answer. Thanks Misty
