Or how about his lifting a floppy boob, then saying, yep.....they're hanging pretty low....just brestbone left on top (maybe not a direct quote, but I was too busy trying to pretend I was someone else)! lol
I did my residency at a large county facility. The plastic surgery fellows had a clinic where they could bring in a (indigent) woman to the conference once a week. She would have to stand naked infront of 15 plastic surgeons with them doing the same thing to her, with the fellow stating what he wanted to do as a teaching/practice case. As the only female surgery resident, I always thought, "boy this girl wants this badly to be humiliated like this". Now that I am on the other side of the scalpel, I can totally understand it. This is her only chance to have it...free. Remember, we think nothing of it as you are standing there. You are going to be even more stunning.

Hi Marty, yea I lurk most of the time and don't post much .
Thanks, so far I have lost 91 pounds since last time I updated. My hubby is doing really well. He's lost 70 something pounds and he's 3 months out but he insists he isn't losing enough. I think that's my fault because I told him that he'd probably lose 100lbs at 3 months...I guess I was wrong . But I do try to remind him everyone is different.

I had liposuction from the waist down about 10 years ago when I reached a thinner point in my dieting. Before they put me under anesthesia. ....I was humiliated. They made me stand there naked while they scrubbed me down with bedadine...of course the male staff were all int he room just watching. I didn't have any of those tiny paper undies on either. I had many surgeries obviously and they usually wait until you go under and then mess with you. With the last surgery I was naked spread eagle and they wouldn't knock me out until the doctor confirmed where my plastic mesh was popping out. In the meantime an intern or something was just standing there starring until the doc came in. I thought that maybe he should have just turned away until he actually had to look. These weren't freebie surgeries either..hummm???

I think it's easy in the medical field after so long to forget that people are modest and that it is an actual human with feelings that they are dealing with and not everyone is used to seeing or showing that stuff every day. Some get used to just dealing with it as another case because they see so much and they are not affected by it anymore. I guess when you have probed and glared at every body part on a million people for medical reasons, you sorta become numb to it and it's just a common thing then, but it's NOT a common thing to the patient. I bet after you had surgery that day they couldn't even tell you what your face looked like or any of your body parts. But all the same, it's not fun for you and they should be a little more sensitive and not so humiliating.

What an awful feeling! I'm the sort of person who would "ahem! Patients don't feel nearly as humiliated when they are covered modestly while on the table conscious. Hello?" But then most people who know me think I'm extremely assertive--in a good and bad way.....

Default You go, girl!!!!!!!!!

Marty:
I'm interested in hearing how your experience goes. I'm starting to think that I need a big old lift everywhere, but I'm terrified of PS. But, I sure would love not to have to fold up my batwings when I get dressed in the morning - and, I've stopped looking at my legs - they look like elephant legs (skin all hanging around). And my boobs - don't get me started there.....it's like they're telling me to check to see if my shoelaces are tied.

But, not sure if I can live with this forever. I'm taking one day at a time.

Keep us updated on your journey! We're all pulling for ya!

Thanks much....I'm nervous about the pain and the recovery time. But like the bypass...I'm anxious to take this next step. So, I am trying to let the excitement win out and deal with the pain when it happens. lol I will let you know the true deal about it. You know I tell it like it is!
