I have spent the last year and a half documenting rashes and back pain due to my excess skin. I was denied a Plastics referral twice but on the third attempt I was successful. To make a long story short, I am having an abdoninoplasty tomorrow (7/7/06) at 7:30am. My insurance is covering everything with no out-of-pocket expences. Keep trying, documenting, taking pictures, ect....eventually they will get tired of hearing from you and will cover it.

Stuart - I just though of something - this extra 6 months of documenting rashes will only solidify your weight with maintnence.

Julia you already know that insurance companies will deny you at the drop of a hat for the smallest reason. I say get 6 months of documentation and give it another go. You have to look at it like those 6 months will come and go, why not just do the 6 months worth of documentation. Even if you have to start your own journal of discomforts with the extra skin. I hope something comes through for you Julia.

Now you know the rules that your insurance company wants to play by. Document everything and try again in 6 months. Use Stuart as an example it took him three trys, don't get discouraged play by the rules and you will be succesful.
