Default Tummy tuck cost?

Hello, I am 2 years 3 months post op. I have lost form 423ish to 220. I have maintained 220 for 6 months. I am 29 years old & 6'-3" tall. I have a large build. I have regained much of the muscle that I lost. I go to the gym 4~5 days a week.

Now I have a ring of skin around my mid section and some loose skin on my pectoral region. I have BCBS insurence and they will not cover the cost of removal. I have gotten an $8500 quote from a local dr. ( Greenville NC ) but was wondering if anyone on this board new of the going rates in other parts of the country. If it is a cost savings I may need to take a vacation to that area and get this thing done.

Thanks for any imput.

Hi....congrats on your weight loss!!!! That is awesome. The quote you got would be considered cheap here in Ohio. I may have to travel a bit too for better prices.

I paid around 10,000 for my tummy tuck. Have you tired fighting the insurance company to make them pay?

You will need to consult each dr invidually as the price depends on how much skin needs removed, how much mucsle need tightening, etc. My TT was $6800, but I'm way smaller than you and had 7 lbs of skin removed. My ex was about your size and kept 220 lbs off also...total for TT, pectoral skin, back skin, and legs removal for him was $23000....they expect to take off 30+ lbs of skin!

Default tummy tuck

The $8500 was for the chest and tt only. I have been able to keep my legs tight through weight training.

I wish I could get the insurence to pay but I do not know what to do other than have my dr ask.

I am going to Mexico for a lower body lift probably in April 07 (buttocks, back, outer thighs and tummy tuck w/ muscle tightening) and it's 5100.00.

I am also getting my breast lift w/ small implants done for 4100.00 in October!

I have researched the Dr out the wazoo and talked to so many patients I am dizzy with information. I have also looked at so many naked before and after pictures all I can see is boobie!!!! My kids kept getting up last night and saw too many sets of boobies too!!

I will be very interested in hearing how it goes and all. I have thought about doing this too. How much is the trip?

Not too bad actually, the airfare is 500.00 but we were planning on flying down to San Diego anyway for a football game, so I decided to do my boobs at the same time!! The hotel that I am staying at is in San Diego and they offer a shuttle door to door to the clinic in Mexico so that worked out awesome. The cost for the hotel is only 57.00/night including the shuttle. And the nice thing is I get to recooperate in San Diego for 5 days!!

I can't wait!!

Wow Leanne!! I am very interested in all of your research on this. I think the prices around here are outrageous, but I also want to feel 100% comfortable with what I am going to put my body through. If you would PM me the Dr.'s name and point me in the direction of some of your research I would very much appreciate it!! I won't be getting mine done until well after you, so I look forward to cheering you on!
