I am so sorry that you went through all of that! Scary!!! I'm so glad that the procedure to correct it was fairly easy (although unpleasant), and that you didn't have to go under the knife...I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that it was the last of any more problems!!!

Yeah, the worse part is when th GI doc first talked to me in the ER. He was mentioning that the worse case scenario was that they might have to reverse the RNY bypass!

I talked to my bypass surgeon and he wants me to f/u with him and get a second scope done in a few weeks. He was quite surprised to hear of such a complication so far out. It wasn't an ulcer in his opinion as the events happened so quickly and I had absolutely no pain or tummy troubles. He's a bit stumped until he can get a better look for himself.

Why the epi? I thought that was used mainly for people in serious heart distress - you know, a "kick start"?

At least, that's what I remember from my EMT training!

Epi is often used to constrict blood vessels so they won't bleed as much.

Did any of your Dr's ask you about alcohol consumption? I know that's not terribly great for us post-oppers. Esophageal varices---arrrggghhh!
Hope you are back at it soon!

Had nothing to do with food or drink intake per what the docs think. I'm a moderate when it comes to what I put in my mouth. I gave the docs a list of exactly when and how much of caffiene and alcohol I had the past 2 weeks prior, along with the foods I had.
