"hypoglycemia before lap-band surgery"
I usually have BS drops [blood sugar drops] daily. I am working towards lap-band surgery...hopefully early fall this year.
I am searching for documented info, or any info, on the effects of lap-band on people that have "hypoglycemia before surgery". How the surgery effects or does not effect hypoglycemia after lap-band.
What I have learned about lap-band. I am an excellent candidate for lap-band. Lap-band could possibly help control my hypoglycemia, diabetes, weight gain, etc. However, I can never have gastric bypass, as this seems to make hypoglycemia worse or with bad outcomes. With my BS numbers going low already, a gastric bypass is not...and will never be fore me. (My blood sugar numbers drop, they do not get high).
I am searching hard for more information. Something documented, so I can read on it. I take this surgery serious. With my BS serious, I can't make it worse...or else!!!
Perhaps you might know if there is any documentation on...How the surgery effects the people that have "hypoglycemia before surgery". With lap-band being preformed for about 10 years, the doctors should be sharing this information, and there should be something someplace. I just can't find it.
[After several years of life ruined daily from BS drops, I think I made some headway. A few weeks back, I started taking a vitamin supplement 1,000mg Vitamin C in a non-acidic formula that contains 32 mineral complexes, B vitamins, antioxidants, plus a collagen formula a day. The first day I noticed I felt better and noticed I was not having the BS drops every 20 minutes, or every hour, or many a day. In the first 3 days after starting this supplement, I had only 1 major BS drop, a couple bad ones, and then the others I noticed before they got bad and I could actually control these with food. Hurray! This is a miracle for me. I don't know why these supplements helps. My body seems to be more leveled since I started the supplements.]
