Question getting Realize Band next week

I was wondering how much anxiety over being hungry people have experienced when using the Realize Band or lap band. Right now, I'm on a liquid diet to get ready for the surgery, and all I want to do is CHEW something!!:

Mae-

I have had the Realize Band for about 2 months and I love it. I'm not hungry in between meals and thankfully I've had zero complications.

From my experience, the pre op diet was the WORST part

Good luck, you're almost banded! Once you are you'll be able to eat something in a few days. Even though it's mushy you'll love it, trust me

Default one week to go!!!

can't wait to hear each of your progress. I have my surgery next Tuesday, I am excited and scared. I have been on the low carb for the last 3 wks and its getting old quick.

Kay,

Good luck! Having the surgery was the BEST decision I've ever made

Are you getting excited?!?!

The worst part was the pre op diet for me...

Hi there and welcome hun !
I was banded 6 months ago ... no complications and no regrets
The liquid diet is tough .. I had it for a whole month after surgery too so yes It got frustrating .. I wanted real food after a month
Once u start on mushies then introduce real foods u will be fine .
About feeling hungry ... The band does stop hunger pangs ... I dont very often feel hungry .
But ITS DOESNT CURE head hunger ... Thats the worst bit Im afraid to say
I battle head hunger every day ...
In time we just learn to live with the band ..
Every day is a learning curve , The band is great but u do have to be disiplined and avoid all slider foods ...
Ive lost near 60 pounds and no way could I have done that without my band !
Its hard work and u get bad days as well as great days ..
Its not a walk in the park no wls is and no way is this THE EASY WAY out as some folk think .
I wish u all the luck in the world and plz keep us updated ...

Best Regards
S xxx

Sara-

CONGRATULATIONS on the 60 lbs! That is an awesome achievement.

I'm with you 100% chica. There's NO way I could lose this weight on my own, and hell it isn't easy. WLS is not an 'easy fix or way out'. Boo to the naysayers.

I'm proud of you girl

Muah!
