Default Does anyone have this problem???

I am either too tight or too loose. My surgeon has filled and unfilled me so many times. Now he says I will either have to decide if I want to be too loose or too tight, but he doesn't recommend being too tight because of slippage and erosion. So, I am stuck right now at being too loose which is making me not feel full very quick. I do my best to stop before I feel full, but when I feel satified. I am doing this without the help of my band. He recommed I get the gastric sleeve. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem or am I the lucky one

Oh, and I have RA and fibro, which he said maybe affecting my fills with the inflammation.

How do you handle being too loose if you have this problem?

I want to get healthy and get this weight off....like all of us do.

Thanks!!!

I understand your dilemma, as I felt too loose (not full quickly), then got only 1.5 ml of fill and felt too full too fast. Not sure now (3 mos post last fill) if I should get another, keep where I am at, or what. I wish I had some sort of advise for you, but personally, I would wait for another surgery. For me, I feel my band is a little tight, but it keeps me in check ;-)

good luck to you!

Me I am about to have my second fill, first fill was december and felt as tight as hell, was being sick all the time but weight fell off and it did not feel as tight after a month, now it feels loose and weight is static, so tomorrow is fill time to get back on track.

All I can say is 100 pounds has gone, my waist from 56 inches to 36 inches and I am feeling good, the pain from the fill was in some ways a good thing to keep me on track.

Good luck

james

Default fill results

Hi-

What I've found is that it all depends on who's doing the fill and how well they know you, and how long you wait to let the new fill settle in.

Initially, I hardly notice the difference, but within about 4 hours or so, I really feel it (I think that's about when the swelling from the adjustment kicks in). It takes a week or so for the swelling to go away before I can really tell whether the fill is right.

My PA knew me and my band well, and she had a real knack for knowing how much was just right. Interestingly, the only time I was overfilled was when she wasn't available and I had to go to someone else. That was the first and only time I had a REALLY bad bout of PB'ing (when I was out of town, no less), and it scared the heck out of me, so the backed it off a teensy bit and I was fine. I'm WAYYY overdue for an adjustment now (trying to get in with a new doc in my new location), and I'm getting too much in, but I'll be fine, and at least I'm not overfull. Funny thing though - I'm still rarely REALLY hungry, but I can just fit too much in at a sitting at this point. Hopefully we'll get that in check soon!

isn't the gastric sleeve where they take part of your stomach out and THROW IT AWAY?
hell no if that is the case - do the RNY, gold standard. even though it is perm, you COULD in theory have a revision to "fix" the rerouting of your insides if there was something life threatening that happened. while we think of the RNY as permenant (99.99 percent of the time it is and should be - its a major surgery to reverse) there is just something crazy to me about taking part of the stomach out and tossing it...
you can't get that part of the stomach that they took out and threw in the trash back!
